| I don't really see what they can do tbh- they could up the salary cap and allow RL players to earn more - but we've already seen lately that clubs are struggling financially as it stands. RL is not going to attract the big sponsors who could inject cash into the game.

think they are doing ok at the moment promoting the rlwc, tickets selling well too
bit early for too much promotion ...expect a big build up though
shame there is no competitor to sky sports really... thats where the money comes from 90million the last deal.
but then again it seems we have some right numpties running the rfl.. with the stobart deal
no sponsor for super league as yet either..lucky if we get 1 million for it.. engage were paying 1.2

The RFL in this country have absolutely nothing to do with the promotion of RLWC2013. It is under the auspices of the world game. There is a tremendous amount of work being done behind the scenes plus a constant drip feed of information.
You are quite welcome to help in the promotion - if you want. Just let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.

Can not see any new deal being worth anything like the last one and Sky seem to be really cutting back on sports other than football with the likes of Greyhound Racing and Speedway coverage being in doubt, cricket being covered and commentated on from London rather than in India. The future might be very dicey indeed.
Agree they cut their own throats with the Stobart deal and are paying for it now with no decent deals in place 2 weeks before the season starts (and the one deal announced probably puts pay to any bookmaker headline sponsorship as Foxy Bingo/BWIN would not have agreed their deal if they were going to be under sponsors to one of their bookmaking rivals).

| RL players would only ever go to Yawnion for money and no other consideration, certainly not for that game,as Yawnion is turgid rubbish. How many times would a skillful 3/4 out of RL get to touch the ball in Yawnion while they go through all the scrum boredom and beanpole jumping.
Plus at the Yawnion pile up all the forwards are out of the game so then no lines getting run to create space for the 3/4's to exploit.

You obviously have not watched much RU recently.
RU depending on the team and circumstances can be very different to what you see when English teams are playing
I watched a lot of the games this weekend and in the two games that Munster and Leinster had to win by scoring 4 tries to get a bonus point there were some very good attacking plays with ball in hand. They also went a lot less for kicks so as to keep possession and run it.
The skill level of RU backs has also improved ( as well as some of their forwards).
Johnathan Sexton and Tommy Bowe would make excellent|RL players and Jamie Heaslip would make an excellent RL prop.
Do not underestimate the game of RU as it is getting better.

Have watched some RU on telly recently but quickly got frustrated by it and switched off. Each to their own, could be wrong I don't see a flood of RL players moving to RU because the games are so different.Money talks I suppose, and now there is more of it available,so we'll have to wait and see.Suppose there will always be a trickle out of RL as there is now,and that is too many and generally our 'star' names.Watched Eastmond a bit for Bath RU t'other week, his talents looked to be wasted from what I saw, compared to his time in RL.
As for NRL,plenty may want to go out there but Aussies are generally dismissive of our comp,so many probably won't get the opportunity.
