Remember saying when he was in his prime at Bradford,that he would probably end up at ours towards the end of his career.

He was very quick for a big man when at his peak.

He's still got the size plus the experience,if no longer quite the pace.

If nothing else the man is a pro from top to bottom

If he can help the likes of bobby/larne/jj progress too he will be worth the punt. Positive signing, just hope him and mason can get along

its a gamble but one i'm happy for the club to take. if he can stay injury free and offer something on the pitch as well as off it then it surely is a good decision. though he's not played much last couple of years he's still gotta be an asset to us.

Now that is very VERY unfair!!
SF Should never have been on that tour because of losing his mum immediately before he flew but his family told him to go , he had a complete breakdown whilst in Oz followed by that knockout punch so smart ass you name me anyone who would have come out smiling after that three weeks!!!!
Then he picks up a bad injury and his confidence went, along with his health , his marriage and a few other issues all of which he has dealt with quietly and like a pro!!
Now SF will be class for you and has bags to offer , bet he is close to your POTS at the end of 2013

I'd take JP off Leeds tomorrow,don't care how old he is.

I think it's a risk, but one well worth taking I am positive he will do well. The lad could do with a bit of luck. Also no one could ever doubt his commitment to the game.

Did I hear right, only two games in two seasons. Well I suppose he won't have burned himself out, but how can we be sure he is strong enough or good enough with so little game time in recent years?

The only thing I have against Fielden was him relentlessly going in with the knee raised when he played for the Bulls.

Deliberate malicious foul play it was.

I even remember Noble dismissing it in an interview saying it was just part of Fielden's natural running style.

He should have been banned for a lengthy period for all that stuff, but got away scott free as he was a Bull at the time. Typical.

This is a huge risk for us imo. Is he even fit? Can he stay fit? Time will tell I suppose.

The last game Fielden played in for Wigan he looked fit, hungry and like he wanted to play.

He's passed his fitness test and I for one will cheer him on his home debut.
