Does anyone know why Danny Brough was taken off? He is probably the most creative player in SL and also can change a game with interceptions. Was he injured if not I would guess it didn't go down too well with him.

That rumour keeps coming up honestly don't see either Brough or Chase moving. As a Wakefield fan who thought Brough was great I felt had we the money we should have built a team round him. I think this is what Anderson will do and it isn't like Hudds are in the possition we were in, you have the money to keep your best assets.

He does need a strong pack to play behind to get on the front foot.

Brown was never a stand off in a million years.

Brown only ended up playing stand off because we missed out on Carney- it was the available option at the time when carneys visa was refused.

and then he went on to play for England down under at stand off..cant of been that bad in that position

oh and i seem to remember us falling apart when he got injured in the cup final and we didnt have him for the rest of the season

100% spot on, very good centre but not a stand off in a million years, he may have played stand off for England but so has Sinfield, Farrell and Sculthorpe!!

Lets compare these to the Aussies Lockyer, Thurston and Laurie Daly and New Zealand's Benji Marshall, people still wonder why they are light years ahead of us.

I struggle to think of 1 world class British stand off, out of all the players playing that is a shocking stat, reason behind it is clubs either have overseas players at 6 or fill the position with a loose forward ala Sinfield.

About time we saw some proper class British halfbacks coming thru, stand off should be quick over first 5 meters allowing them to see the gap and more importantly go thru the gap, a decent kicking game would be nice too.

Kevin Brown was never and will never be a stand off, neither will Grix (not knocking em as both decent players but not 6's)
