Just had a stronghold text from Widnes confirming Kevin Brown will be at the Stobart from next season.

Kevin brown is signed up until 2015.

He actually has, we've all just got our season ticket texts through and i quote "On behalf of Viking Stronghold. Widnes Vikings is delighted to announce the signing of Huddersfield Giants captain Kevin Brown on a four year deal for an undisclosed fee. Following the competition of the Stobart Super League with the Giants, the 27 year old will link up with the Vikings ahead of the 2013 campaign."

Just been announced on SKY.

I'm not sure it will be the start of the post nathan brown exodous for you lot as some have mentioned. On sky Eddie claimed that Kev asked for release as he wanted to go back to Lancs as his Mrs has just had a baby. They wanted to be close to family.

Are the rumours suggesting a destination?

I know that BUT they are all players who are under long term contracts and are integral to the team. Surely Brown would think he would be better off at the Giants under Anderson rather than at Widnes with Betts

Not sure if you heard it being announced before the Widnes game or not. But I'm sure they said something along the lines of he's just had a baby recently and he wants to be closer to family. Wigan also put an offer in for him too.

Fom our point of view i'd be delighted.

From an RL point of view it's dissapointing. As a sport we need as many teams to be as competative as possible, IMO Hudds have turned the 'big 4' into a big 5. If true it sends a bad message to the youngsters such as Eden.

This is not necessarily bad news. Many people on here have questioned KB and whether he is good enough a question that was again asked after how easy he was bounced off for a Wigan try.

We have got a fee he has not gone to a major threat I.e. Wigan and apparently he wants more time at home. Depends who we sign to replace him whether this is good business or bad !!!

I have heard that Wigan have asked about Brough and we have said he can go for £800,000 if they offer that or close we would be mad not to take it as Brough and Browns wages would replace them with top class players if we get this sort of money

Perhaps Paul Anderson isn't going to overload his teams with pivot players.

He may go with a more robust loose forward and rely on 6, 7 and 9 to take tham around the park.
