If you are referring to the cup game that was after promotion. That was 2003. Clearly we must have lost at some point in the cup ------or we'd have won it. Was it Doncaster we lost toIn the cup in 2002?

It was, which we made up for by whacking them in the semi's of the Buddies Cup with Thorman setting a new record for the fastest hat trick.

A certain well thought of player (who shall firever remain nameless) told me that the team weren't bothered about winning that cup game - they wanted to focus on winning promotion and didn't want to be distracted by a tournament they weren't ever likely to win.

Doncaster was the 'fog' match. You could hardly see across the pitch never mind end to end. Seem to remember Stan having his worst match ever for us!

Had some fun and games that year didn't we - not to mention some battles with Leigh !

Remember playing Whitehaven who were either 2nd or 3rd and playing quite well and we battered them 86-6, added to the fact that they were the only team to take a point off us that year too.

Donny in the fog! Yes I remember that one only too well!

And the draw up in Cumbria...the only point we dropped that season.

, just got my cup games the wrong way round , just had to check the paper and hunslet indeed was 2003 BUT we were about to get the record for 29? wins and i seem to remember a `certain` trophy being whisked away as we stuffed it up against hunslet in the cup. happy days.

i was talking about this yesterday and remembered i'd not actually ever seen the grand final i think i videoed it but never watched it, was wondering if anyone has a copy of it on dvd? or if the club would have a copy?

I used to have it- but it was on VHS! It's long gone. Think you might struggle meast!

Eeeh it were a grand day out.

I am a Doncaster supporter first and Giants second as i am a Doncaster lad, had season tickets for both for past 5 years, and fog or no fog was right chuffed donny won that day and in my eyes that day Donny well deserved it, Come on you Dons and come on Giants, both my teams to win thier leagues this year, HEAVEN.

I am pretty sure the 'fog' match was the league game over there which was our first match of the season back in the middle of winter (December time i think)
We then also played then there in the challenge cup and the Buddies but i thought both these were in better conditions.

It was a great season that and really got my enthusiasm back for the game after years of defeats in super league. I think i only missed a couple of games all saeson.

I think the fog match was featherstone? Originally postponed on boxing day i seem to remember i could be wrong though

I was thinking that as I remember going to Donny in the fog but i didn't go to the CCup match, only the league game and the Buddies Cup match.
