Played with some pride tonight, thast whats been missing these last few months.
Proud to be a giants fan with that come back but still very disapointed with the score line.

We showed flashes of what we can do but we also showed that we don't have that belief an attitude. We need a player that can give the others that kick up the a4se when needed. Ryan Bailey was there talking to his players when they conceded a penalty, telling them to lift up. They had Sinfield, geeing everyone on and McGuire too. We had no one, aside from Mase going up to pick up Doof after he'd got involved in that shocker tackle on Hardaker for his hat trick try. Some of our defence tonight was a straight up joke. I'm sorry, but it was.

yep, ive been sayin it for ages now that we dont play with any pride and tonight we got at least 55/60 mins of play when we did?
I dont mind loosing games when we put the effort in thats all im trying to say.
Our D was shocking in patches but some of the leeds trys were very good? i dont think alot of teams would have stopped some of them?
We do miss a leader on the pitch, we have done since Drew left but i think we will have that with LOD when he comes back next year.

The fact we let Leeds run all over us on our patch in the first 25 mins and it's all ok.

We conceded, for me, 3 very soft tries. The last Hardaker one was diabolical. The Webb one was a shocker and the Jerry miss was also a gift. We grabbed for the collar too much tonight.

I was talking to PBG tonight and he made a couple of decent points, one of which I mentioned in a post earlier in the week about missing Lunt. He also said that was looked goosed, overtrained. There are games this season where we have looked to have nothing in the tank. Anyone who went to Crusaders away will know what I'm talking about.

We are shaking up the playing personnel a little bit this off-season it seems. Perhaps we need to take a look at our training regime too.

And LO'D is not a leader IMO. He is an enforcer but he does not communicate with his players and direct them. He doesn't lift them with leadership, he lifts them with big hits.

Yeah but Codey we so soft in the opening 20 minutes,and on our own patch,it was just embarrassing.It was a semi to get us one step to OT and we were ing soft.

We've been rubbish in the opening 20 for as long as I can remember.

It was a performance of alarming contrasts. We veered from the ridiculous to the sublime back to ridiculous. It was about 65% ridiculous, 5% sublime, 25% middling and the last 5% we were playing a different sport where defence involved tickling shirt collars.

If Nathan can't get them up for a semi final with so much riding on it,I think it's possibly time for a change.

I was told that at St George when he coached there they could not score enough points,and that seems like the way it's panning out here for him now.

The players have to take responsibility for their own performance levels.

Brian McDermott is quoted as saying the players have taken the lead in training this week at their place. No doubt the likes of Sinfield & McGuire have been running the show. We don't have a personality like that in our squad. Kev Brown is no captain IMO. Robbo is no captain, the toys come out of the pram when things get tough. Brough the same. Who do we have to lift and focus the players when the going gets tough? Where is our Sinfield or O'Loughlin or Graham? We don't have one. We need one.

Luke Robinson was crap in all aspects of his play, particularly in defence for some soft tries.
As a neutral I have no axe to grind and I quite like Huddersfield and Leeds, but Jesus Huddersfield handed it to Leeds.

I am glad that Leeds progressed because I feel they will provide better opposition for the likes of Wigan, Warrington, Catalans or Saints. Huddersfield are too brittle.

sorry but i cant dish out much praise after that ...all i wanted was to see the players put in 80 minutes of sheer hard work, some serious graft and a bit of fight to possibly salvage our season ... instead i saw a trail of our players on the ground after flapping a polite arm at the leeds attackers flying past them .
we were far far from lookin like genuine contenders tonight ...

Well done to Leeds. the best team won.

For Giants it was a strange night. Two dreadful periods were Leeds ran riot and some fabulous stuff.

For me Robbo looked knackered. not surprising as he has played far too much gametime since lunt got injured.

I think Giants are a pretty good team. Not sure that Nb hasn't taken them as far as he can. His only gameplan is to grind down the opposition.

I can only see improvement for next season.

So get some perspective all those with the misery head on. Giants came fourth and could have done so much more. They didn't.So look forward not back.

The Giants never gave up tonight even though it wasn't going their way. With a bit more confidence in their own ability they can easily make the top two.

robbo probably had his worst game for a very long time - i wonder how much having a newborn waking through the night has had an effect!

Not miserable myself,but this forum did become a place where you were jumped on for being supposedly negative,and you had to have good words to counteract that or risk being humiliated,even if you were trying to be constructive.

His only gameplan is to grind down the opposition.

^ Totally agree,It was great to watch the tough stuff,but in the end you have to be able to play some football against the top sides.
