Does anyone see it like me. The new deal is unbelievable and almost too cheap to watch what is the only sports team in huddersfield playing at the very top level. Will it work? The problem that we have at the Giants is that our core support just comes from in the main the Huddersfield area. In contrast to Town who get a large amount of support from Mirfield etc.These people will never support the Giants as they have no tradition of doing so. So for me, for this to be a success we have to shift at least 10000 or it has not worked and i do not know what more the club can do to get people in. It was obvious from the Mr Thewlis interview when he alluded to all clubs having problems that crowds and revenue is ours. Ken Davy cannot make up the gap between revenue and costs for ever and it is quite simply his contribution that allows us to compete in the top 4. With the effort he has put in over the last 15 years it is a disgrace if at least 10000 dont take up these tickets and demonstrate that we want a top team in huddersfield. If not where do we go next?

Are the public in surrounding areas aware of our offer? Living in Dewsbury I see nothing about the offer in our local paper. I'm sure if people who live in surrounding areas such as Dewsbury, Batley, Mirfield, Birstall etc and like watching rugby league hear about the offer then there would be some people take up the offer. Being the best team in Yorkshire we should be getting part time Bulls and Rhino fans taking up this offer too. It needs widespread advertising for it to work IMO. Wakey have placed tv ads for games so we should be looking at doing something similar about our offer to reach all of kirklees and Calderdale.

2 good posts, i certainly think the Giants rely too much on 'word of mouth' from current season ticket holders, when they should be putting adverts on the sports pages of all the local rags within a 15 mile radius of Huddersfield. mentions on local radio stations, posters and bill boards, adverts on busses in other towns will all help. as could all supporters if they changed their facebook status telling people about it

Need to get the word out to schools too- the deal should be extended to allow them to do a massive marketing drive in schools including those in surrounding areas- now is a really good time to target calderdale!!!!

It's more about reaching that magical 10k figure to attain the A grade licence.Will be disappointing,agree with you,if we don't get sales approaching that off the back of this offer,but even if we don't our SL status is not under threat.Then as you allude to,it's up to Sir Ken if he would want to carry on forking out.Yet he has proved over 15 years,one thing that he is not is a quitter.

When you look at it,our crowds now are not as good as some SL clubs,but they are at least as good as others,and much better than a couple I could mention.

I don't believe any of the aspiring championship clubs if given the nod could exceed our crowd numbers even with big success.

If Salford's crowds get huge in their new stadium,and if Cas & Weaky do get their stads built and it results in big attendance jumps for them,only then I would start to fear for our SL future.

Where they advertising the giants ticket prices at the town game yesterday?

I went to the town game yesterday and I didn't see anything regarding the offer. Am sure all town fans will be receiving something through the post pretty soon. Re tv advert. When town did cheap season tickets they did a ten second tv advert. Something like that would be great.

Some really good points being made on this thread. I live in marsden and if you were not a current fan you wouldn't know of the deal. Over the coming months I think we will start seeing posters everywhere!

I don't see anything at the bus station, the train station, on any big posters on the ring road (like Town have).

Is there any advertising at the local rugby clubs around Hudds, Halifax, Brighouse, Dewsbury, Batley etc.

As mentioned should also be at all schools, colleges, uni in the local area.

Oh and a few TV, Radio adverts would be cool too.

The club need to stop marketing at the likes of us!!! I constantly get letters, or very nice phone calls from NB, etc urging me to come along to the game- I'm a bleeding season ticket holder I'm already going!!!!!!!
Sports shops, gyms, rugby clubs, school rugby teams, these are the places they should be looking to market. Get adverts on the backs of buses, bus stops around kids playgrounds, doctors waiting rooms- any where people have to sit and gaze round with nowt to do but read the poster!

I have to agree with the previous poster. They are constantly preaching to the converted.
I work in Bradford and there is no doubt they have an SL Team playing in the city, adverts are everywhere!
Busses, Taxis, Billboards urging everyone to get to Odsal.
on my occassional forays into Bramley and Pudsey I have been confronted by the Rhinos presence, though not as much as in the Bulls catchment area, I suppose Hetherington doesn't need to promote his sides because of the bedrock support at Headingley, due in part to the lack of Premier League wendyball at Elland Road.

I agree, i am in there already with last years great season ticket offer and beleive they are a fantastic view. we have the time clock just behind us, any trys scored at this end you are close too, also you can see the plays developing, only things you miss is the forward passes but who cares when the officials miss em

Easiest way to publicise the season ticket offer would be to do a leaflet drop through all doors in Huddersfield. Maximum impact minimum cost.

Why dont the club ask the season ticket holders to put posters up in their local area..or the papers they gave out in waiting rooms or even as supplements in the examiner !!....i know i would if they sent me some.
Its almost as if the club seem reluctant to advertise outside of town in fear of been out of their territory...

Daz they did those downloadable posters this season for people to do just that- but a4 is too small.

not many people have A3 printers at home.
