3, As he has not been playing has anyone seen him at games watching the lads? I haven't. Not training with the guys, no family over here, just doing re-hab with GB (remember Robbo saying it was lonley not being with your team mates for weeks on end) not coming to games, seem like a one way trip to home sickness and an early release from his contract.

Homesick and wanting to go home might not be a bad thing for the giants, not impressed at all, he seems lacking in pace and poor under the high ball, clueless positional sense---- having said that what do i know better than nathan, he obviously sees something in him, remember wire fans were begging Matt king go home after his first year and look at him now.

Thing is, Matt King was a GF winner and current international, he was always going to come good.
His signing reminds me of Korkidas and Finigan. Unfit, injured, not many games between them and released early

People were also calling for Brett Hodgson's head after the same number of games Simpson has had. I seem to remember people knocking LOD after 2 matches.

He was signing autographs outside the ground at the Saints match.

Mind you, if he comes back like Brett, Leroy, D Hodgson, Bruno, et al, after the knockers had finished with them then there's a possibility the he might be rehabilitated!

What a forum. For years we pick on each other. Then, when that calms down, we pick on the players.

As I've said before, players read these forums. What it will do for their confidence to read some of the garbage posted about them I don't know.

I hope it turns round for him, but when you see some of the other 'exile' wingers/centres on show last night and a few that didn't make the game like the 'dog walker' - you wish NB had gone for one of them (salary cap permitting).

BTW the forum is for discussion and debate, good or bad, it would be pointless if all we did was blindly ignore the latter. Criticism will always be there, it's about rising above it and proving your doubters wrong - that's best done on the pitch.

Just telling it as i see it. Not in the same class as our other overseas players, not better than our British players, taking up a valuble quota space and on decent cash (why would he come otherwise). Hope he gets over his injuries, as you never want someone to be hurt doing their job, but for me, not the type of guy we need to help push us on to a higher level.

I trust nathans judgement he has been right in the signings he made so far, he has seen something in Simpson that maybe hasn't materialized on the pitch yet. Hopefully he'll settle over here and with that his game will improve- he hasn't yet been able to string enough games/gametime together to prove himself did ok against Leeds as I remember And I doubt he cost much! The thing is the way hodgson, Jerry, Leroy, gilly and Bruno are playing when would he get a game?

Trouble is that we are making a judgement on a few games in an unsetteld team with a player who was having to cope with a whole new way of life, players, tactics and without all the supports he would have back home.


He deserves a second chance and we will see what he is like if he gets a run of games.

I've seen Simpson at matches watching the boys play!! He's also been handing out the shirts for the Birthday bonanza!!

After a patchy start , at leeds he looked to have some real potential. Pity his njury means none of us can accurately assess him yet. Bet he is feeling more frustrated than us.

It just hasn't happened for him yet, whether it is just a bad signing and he isn't upto SL standard or a case of the him just not adjusting to his new life i dont know...but so far its looking like NB has actually got a signing wrong !

i hope he comes back a better player and cracks on as its always good to have more competition for places !!

We aint having threads knocking players anymore, the guy aint played a handful of games yet ffs.

They have a crap game then fair enough but i see no point in threads specifically aimed at individuals.

We'll revisit this after hes got a season or 20 odd games under his belt, then we can make a judgement, till then it serves no purpose to knock one of our own.

There are plenty of positives to dwell on for a change

It's a shoulder problem. That's as much has been said I think.

And Brown revealed Australian winger Jamie Simpson faces a further three months on the sidelines as a shoulder injury will require surgery and he is pencilled in for an operation on Monday.

Jamie is a top bloke!

spoke with him a few weeks back and yes he's frustrated with the lack of games he has been fit to play in, his Mrs is over here now and is a little more setteled. On a personal note away from the Game, Jamie is without a doubt a true Giant he is doing so much in his own time for supporters he really does need a thankyou from us. I really hope he does get over his injury and comes back fit and ready for action.

I agree with Yully. Give him a chance, though we have some excellent local backs!
