Hi ! I'm new to the board, I dont have a special team although i probably watch the Giants more than any other, I go to Wakefield sometimes and also Batley and Dewsbury, I have read the board for a longish time so i thought i would have a go at posting.

I prefer Trinity Wildcats to be honest. Although they are probably the only team that could drop their 'tag name' and be fine.

I'm sure the Wakefield fanbase would prefer "Wakefield Trinity" as their name and have the wildcat as their mascot and on kids things but have the old trefoil logo.

Code 13, just as a matter of interest, and l am genuinely interested, when was RLFC introduced to our official name, l have memorabilia going back a century, but have not got much lately, as l have spent many years abroad since the 70s.
so this event must have taken place post 84. l could easily contact the club but l,m not going to bother them with trivia, and this will probably be of interest to others on this board. l also have things of historical note that have never been on official website, maybe we should start a historical thread?

Aren't you now clouding the issue between the name of the club and the name of the company that runs/owns the club?



And this begs the question, what constitutes the official name of the club in sporting circles? Is it registered at RL HQ or some other place? Or is it just a trading name of a registered company as per the above?

I was wondering that, I have an old souvenir brochure for the 1962 Challenge Cup Final and that refers to the club as HCAAC (Huddersfield Cricket and Athletic Club ) throughout.
