Just watching the replay (again) and am just amazed that child who is deemed good enough to referee missed that forward pass for the hicks try. He was stood right next to it, no one blocking his view, so blatant at such a vital time. His incompetence could have ended up costing us so dear. There is no real answer to it but it is so frustrating!

The fact Hicks had to reach so far to catch the ball makes it so obvious the pass is forward.

Its frankly astounding he didnt give it.

But then its not a surprise really is it...

To give the guy credit it's hard work when you've got Richard Lewis in your ear telling you it wasn't forward from his view.

absolute disgrace, it was 2 or 3 yards forward. RFL / Sky wanting a grandstand finish perhaps?

If you watch again closely to me it looked like Bentham may give it as he stopped in his tracks... But then the melly started in front of him and that's when in the end he asked Child who for sone god unknown reason didn't call it forward... Shocking!

As I said on another thread it was that far forward it nearly landed in the East Stand!

I dont think Mr Child 'missed' the forward pass i thought it was more of a case of he couldn't be bothered calling it as he had the South Stand behind his back and probably wanted an easy last 5 minutes

Not defending Child, but it could be that it was overlooked because of the trouble caused by teapot flattening King and the resulting set too which followed.
