Physio.
Thumbs up means that player is okay to continue.
Usually see them more when playing teams like Hull KR who prefer to use their knees and elbows to tackle.

| He takes messages from the coaching staff to the players under the pretence that the player is injured, the thumbs up indicates that the player understands and is okay to continue.
All teams do it

| Thank you, someone else spotted it - yes the rules state 'the attacking team CAN have a water carrier on the pitch' and also a physio for an injured player but whenever your opponents have the ball this happened (practically every game I've seen on when you're on tv) ....
The 'trainer' in a yellow top was stood with his back to the pitch looking up to Nathan Brown in the stands and talking on a radio - he then turns to the 'water carrier' in orange an repeats Browns instructions. As soon as he can, onto the pitch the guy in orange would run, to 'offer' a drinks bottle but all the time talking to the player - he goes from player to player and occasionally cames very close to having the ball passed to him! He even waited mid-pitch to talk to a specific player who was involved in the play in progress.
No this isn't a whinge about you beating Rovers, yet again, we were outplayed by a team who were given the opportunity to get close to the try line by accepting silly conceded penalties (no excuses from me) - when Rovers got one we were 90 metres from their line!
Lets see what the RFL & Boots 'n all say on the matter shall we

| Because of course Hull KR don't do it and nor do any other team.
