Not sure what you guys think of this bloke but from a Saints POV he impressed me alot today!

Made major yards on every single drive, really stood out for me

Also impressed by Robinson, Grix, Lunt and Faiumus sidestep which consistantly left our defence flat-footed

agree raleigh had a good game yesterday.. just started this season as a prop and i think he still has some way to go yet.. but the big plus point is that he can do 80minutes

faiumu's sidesteps are his trademark

I also thought Raleigh was your stand out player yesterday-made good ground with every carry.

Andy Raleigh is consistently good. He deserves a crack at national level as much as anyone else.
I'm not biased, but when we signed him from KR, I saw so much potential in that first game that we had done well. I'm sure that playing for your home town team gives you drive, but Andy Raleigh gives it 100% effort, 100% of the game!

Good solid player who always gives 100%. But international standard not a chance.
He is lacking at that level in his go forward, his pace and his ball handling skills.

Agree with stella. He is solid without being spectacular. Gets through loads of work, gives away the odd silly penalty now and then and can sometimes be a bit too upright going into the tackle. Will work and work and work all day though and having a decent season so far.

To be fair i thought Raleigh was up there with Griffin and Brown as our only decent players yesterday.

The problem is he is not ready to be a starting prop and comes behind the likes of Faalogo and Gilmour in the second row.

I prefer to see him off the bench as an interchange forward but he is competing with Eorl and patrick there .I would like to see all three of these on the bench with a hooker.


100% effort every game and a tackling machine but as the team has improved you need a bit more than that to be certain of a starting place.

We will just have to wait and see what happens when we have afull team.

difficult how to see Raleigh at the minute. More than a squad player but not in the starting 13 either.

I need to ask though, I'm not trying to blow smoke up Andy Raleigh's jaxxi, but his tackling is consistent and generally above average, his runs are consistent and he generally takes 2-4 men with him in tackles and makes the metres.
Player of the year 2008 as well.

What does he have to do to get any appraisal for what he has achieved from the fans point of view?

stella gave a pretty good appraisal of Andy's qualities earlier in the thread. As for praise: Andy's a quality player. Like you said, a 100%er. But he's not the best 2nd rower at the Giants, never mind in the country.
