Leader of Council was on look North last night live from Westminster - WTF? and didn't answer any of the questions put to him.
Council said priority for Colleges where exams are - New College bus was stuck on sheet ice blocking the road.

They are absolutely useless - I know the situation with the salt but they could have been doing more to assist and put down sand / ash to aid grip - are they going to be paying for all the damaged cars?

according to the news they only have enough salt to grit the roads 4 more times. that is not 4 days but only 4 more trips on the roads.

Never mind. You can be sure your hard earned council tax will be put towards the big pay off that those taking voluntary redundancy will get, so it is not all bad news - somebody will benefit.

Who will do the work they leave i'm not sure, or are we just paying too many people to do nothing as it is?

Wonder what percentage of the council staff have got to work these last couple of weeks compared with the general population.

Maybe ask yourself why the leader of the Council was Live from Westminster then day before 1,500 job cuts in the council are announced. That and what were these 1,500 people who are now redundant.

I bet they wont be on a managerial scale, cant possibly get rid of any of those can we...

I can't say a thing they've tried over this period of bad weather has worked. And about keeping exam routes open, they could've done that all they liked but the buses weren't sending buses up there all morning before one exam that I know of.

These bloody potholes are awful as well, truely awful.

Some people will moan about anything. The weather of the last few weeks has been pretty exceptional and I think the council have down a good job. To keep all the main routes running for the majority of the time in an area the size of Kirklees with a larger proportion of it on higher ground than the other councils in West Yorkshire was quite a big task.

Still if you can't get your car out you can also sit in your nice warm house thanks to the free loft insulation the council paid for.
