Yes RIP, a truly sporting great has left us.

I'll never forget both the 1986 and especially the 1990 World cup campaign's.

I really thought we were going to do it, as did the whole country and although we lost on penalties, the whole tournament left me and the country with pride that we were back up there mixing it with the best.

RIP Bobby.

Poor guy had it tough as well, saw the picture of him in a wheelchair last weekend at the charity puffball match, said he'd been fighting cancer for the fifth time in fifteen years

Real shame even though we knew it was coming - always seemed a lovely guy and made my childhood a bit more enjoyable during the summers of 1986 and 1990 !!

RIP Sir Bobby, sleep well great man !!

The world is poorer for Bobby Robson not being in it. A true, class sportsman. Whether he won or lost, he always did it with dignity - an example a lot of us could take a lesson from.
