| Quote ="wigsey"A good win in the end tonight. Dreadful 1st half and strong second.
Leeming made a massive difference when he came on. Good to see him get big minutes. Our best hooker easily.
Broughy also showed a lot of commitment.
Very disturbing that Brierley was left out. Surely a better option at 7 than a two stone overweight Jamie Ellis.
Next weeks game is now huge.'"
Agreed, would like to see the same except Brierley for Ellis and Rapira for Huby.

| Some one tell me again how we should be playing Brough at Hooker, and what Ellis brings to the side other than effort.
Brough may not be at the level he was a couple of years ago but he is still the best player at the Giants by a long way.

| Our league position is because Brough tried to do it all this season and was an easy target for defences behind a beaten pack
Ellis had a good game on Friday night, and you'll notice that he takes the ball to that right edge for Leroy and Jerry
But I guess Grix wasn't playing so someone has to get dumped on

I don't claim to be a stats person, but some on here are up on them, Look the stats up and they quite clearly show Brough is just in a different league to Ellis, He would still get into any SL side, whereas Ellis couldn't get into any till he came to us.
Our league position is down to Brough ! and then you say someone has to get dumped on, You need to give your head a shake mate. Have you watched league for long ?

| Our league position is down to us having a crap coach for a long time and poor management of the club.
Nothing to do with aussie players, grix, Brough been a hooker, Ellis not good enough or anyone that some blames or bugs up after one good game or one bad one.
This whole discussion about X or Y PLAYER IS ABSOLUTE BOLLOX

| Was pretty nervous about this game as London are a good side who can score plenty of points. If the 40.4 score was offered beforehand I would have taken it so have to be pleased. Massive attitude change at half time from us which is what we have needed for ages. Hope that was due to Rick giving them the hard word along with the players accepting it. With that and some more determined drives and moving the ball around supporting each other we racked up the score and could well have scored more. Just as important that we maintained the defensive effort throughout. If only we had done the same at Batley.
Will need to show up with that attitude at Leigh. As for individual players for me we still aren't playing our best mix but probably not the time to experiment too much. To be fair to Rick he has had little time to determine his best mix and seems to be concentrating on just improving the effort and belief. So far so good for me.
Special mention to Oli and Nath who gave us great impetus when on, and also for Kruise who looked really direct and offered a much faster PTB. Broughy is just fab but but needs to watch his temper as he is too easily wound up. Plenty of positives though and best that we seem to be getting some of the confidence back in each other.
What a great game we have in store for next week absolutely massive. Our SL status is in our own hands now - a 3 game series to win that massive prize and look towards next season with some belief that we can get back our competitive edge. We just now need to see the team show that determined attitude and keep up the improvements not accepting anything other than the very best each has to offer. COYG.

| well they have been working on defence and it showed, conceding only 4 points to a team that has been scoring plenty
big improvment on recent showings and the 2nd half was really good
brough man of the match, thats why he should play everytime, shut a few people up lastnight.
cudjoe and mcgillvary at their lethal best too.
leeming took his chance well
hopefully crabtree, wardle and symonds all ok for next week after picking up knocks, another good reason the club moved the game from sunday to friday..extra time for recovery
played with 3 props lastnight... new tactics? what a player roberts is going to be

Agree with that completely. Don`t know what Stone is thinking not selecting Brierley, he backs breaks regularly and that is something we are sadly missing when he`s not playing.

| Apart from the dropped ball Ellis played well yesterday- but hey...... Ateotd Stone makes the decisions on who plays and who will be best for the team. He saw it as Ellis this week he may see it differently next week. Much as brierley can make a break I've seen no sign he can game manage. Without a managing 13 or 1 we need someone to help brough and allow us to play both sides of the pitch- Ellis gives us that. I see that as crucial next week especially as leigh have a lot of solid experience in the middle but their edges look weak and we need to exploit that. I also think playing brierley at Leigh will be a distraction next week.

| Exactly as I see it Jools
Brough showed just why he was picked on Friday, but there were a few moments when Brierly's absence was noted when a support player was needed
Ellis has good game management, maybe Brierly does too but these are not the games for experiments
I think should we make SL next season we will be spoiled for choice

| 36 point win, can't complain at that.Helps the points difference.London looked very weak on the fringes,so how much can be read into this win for next week not sure. From the vid looked like they've been getting plenty of practice in on the shifts, some much improved structure in evidence.
Wasn't in attendance but Rickster said he was pleased with the way the forwards went,so all in all def another step in the right direction, hope we can transfer some or most of that to next week.

Not convinced it would be- he will be targeted yes- but not by any one player- by everyone, whilst our players will have the distraction of trying to protect him.
KR were poor yesterday in terms of their game management- when Leigh failed to crumble they didn't know what to do- and as soon as Lunt went off there was no one remotely managing the game for KR.
Leigh are weak at centre and wing -that's an area we can easily exploit- 10 mins into the game I said to the other half- who's that no 42 hes shocking- had a right chuckle to myself when I recognised him. - Wardle and leroy will have some fun against worthington and brown. Wonder whats happened to Tonga- cudjoe has owned him everytime he played against him at Catalan. No love lost between those two for some reason - cudjoe not usually the type to get riled but he does with Tonga!
Leigh have an experienced pack who are solid and strong and their halves play well as a result, they have a decent kicking game- but no one is a match for broughy when he's on song. He would have kicked their pack to death yesterday in those conditions just like he did to Warrington.

| Noticed Rickster had Leeming from bench so went away from the "Kyle's scoots later on in game replaces the Hinch 'd' around the ruck area" gameplan.
Did this work?

Needs must- Woody has an injury I'm hearing.
Thought leeming looked very bright in the time he was on the pitch. Took the ball in well, made a couple of tackle busts and tackled solidly. Was inches away from scoring too.
