| "Good" is subjective. I bet if they had sold 10,000 they wouldn't have said sales are "good" they would have said we have sold 10,000 tickets and this commercially sensitive reason doesn't seem to apply to other teams - cas, leeds and wakey have announced how many memberships they have sold. Hull fc and hull kr have said how many tickets they have sold- possibly others but I haven't actively looked for the info.
Lets face it the club never announce the figure because its embarrassing.
Perhaps they should announce it so folk can to be embarrassed into getting a season ticket!

| I believe we would have sold a lot more, if they had put the increase up by half next season and the other half the season after.
It has been a big jump from the discounted tickets of the last couple of years and it seemed a big hike in one lump.
Apart from mine and my wife`s ticket I only purchased another 2 for Christmas presents whereas last season I purchased 4.
It would look a lot better at the ground if we had 8000 instead of 4000 for the same money.
Passed the Wakefield advertising board the other day and the are asking £50 less than us for a season ticket.
I know the tickets for the end stand are terrific value, but home supporters like to be side on.
But if I were strapped for cash I would rather take them up than miss out.

| Wakefield seated tickets were £175 at there cheapest and are now £225, but you could get a ground ticket for £125- which is very good value- but for that you get a poor view. The main issue is the "membership" that is being offered with loads of discounts for various local business as well as from the club shop and free entry to academy/scholarship games.
It seems that the giants are behind the times with this idea that many clubs seem to be pushing this year- I think that was what the latest survey was in aid of- but the club really needed to give people some incentive to buy given the terrible end to the season the team had.

That 20000 was a one off. Leeds brought a shed load, and it was about 7000 more than normal.

| Exactly
In terms of season ticket sales as long as more than half of last years total are sold then its a net gain on income - and ultimately that's the main aim...

| I think the club need to take a close look at the number of season tickets they sell from now until the start of the season....if the figure is as small as I guess everyone would expect is a deadline really worthwhile and by not having one would we sell more in the long run as people get more focused on the value it gives as the season approaches.
If the closing date costs us sales is it still worth doing to get the cash in early or do we have other streams of income to tide us through the off season if net season ticket income increases allbeit mostly being paid a few months later than was the case this year.
We are not the only club who had a end of Nov cut off and I guess all cases are different but I do wonder if it will cost us sales.

| I had a thought some time ago that they might have been clever to offer not only an early bird discount but also a renewal discount - to try and retain some of last seasons holders
Say its X price to get a season ticket by the deadline and X-10/15% if you are also renewing
Y after the deadline, Y-10/15% after the deadline...

| Code...as far as i remember there used to be a price for renewals, then the early bird price then the full price - i do agree really that the deadline for cheap tickets probably puts a number of people off as its a month before Xmas but over 2 months before the season starts - maybe run the deal for a month in January too when people have got the expense of Xmas out of the way !!.

| I think they have it right. its new holders they want isnt it, so offering existing ones cheaper wouldnt help whatever the price. having a deadline helps the club plan their finances better. if there is no deadline then a lot of people will get a ticket as late as poss like this year meaning they cant allocate a proper spending budget until last minute!

The finances is the real issue and I guess it works at present but perhaps one day we will get bigger and better sponsorship, merchandise sales etc and working without a deadline might not impact on what the club can and can not do financially,

Pretty much spot on ^
[uSeason tickets sales are the lifeblood of the club [/u- this is the official word from the very top of the club.
Unfortunately,it's just us (the loyal fan base) versus the apathy shown by the rest of Huddersfield.

Would sum it pretty accurately - club shop for Xmas presents for kiddies to do our little bit as well.
Btw - Excited about squad pa has assembled. He has addresses the perceived weaknesses that most of us on here would have identified.

| Been thinking about this, I have struggled this time to find £270 for season tickets, have gone with the 3 instalments.
I pay £8.67 a month to giants bonanza thingy, and the giants have these saver a/c things so have what's needed in place for my suggestion.
Why not set up a saver scheme where you pay say £4 weekly from start of season and runs right thru 12 months, this money would be used by club for budgeting etc and it would provide the funds for your season ticket without having to stump it all up in one go.
It would just be constant season on season so wouldn't need to worry about how ya gonna pay for your season ticket.
You would be part of a rewards scheme etc with discounts ala link tyre sales are offering and maybe could incorporate the supporters club into it making you a member.
Could still have the one off payment or 6 instalments for them that prefer that way. Not sure if would be viable but some may be interested, could we get companies involved so could be taken direct from your salary giving tax benefits?
Not sure how it all works but know share save schemes etc do this? Just an idea

All depends on the admin cost I suppose, but certainly seems to have some merit as an idea. One for RHP perhaps?

| Ive said something similar and I definitely think this would encourage people to buy-as people with little "extra" money can budget it in each month. direct debit payments are cheaper to set up than standing orders I think. It may cost a bit of admin- but if the club include it in the cost it will be a relatively small extra cost per year. £24 would only be £2 per month- less than the cost of a bus ticket!

| Club could then concentrate on the new fans needed to push us to where we need to be.
Other rewards such as £10 cash back to the regular season on season fans for every new fan they introduce.
Company offers;- for example 1 free fan for every 15 that signs up from that company etc
Singing section in the main stand to create the atmosphere, more going on before games for the family ala RL Bulls started back in the day before they became corrupt!!
Players being seen more at the clubs on outskirts of Kirklees and Calderdale such as Shaw x, Dewsbury moor etc, get kids down to watch SL rather than Dewsbury or Batley

Batley do a £35 season for kids.....ours is £35 for 12-16 year olds (free under 12's), why not do a reciprical deal where our juniors can get in free there and them with us. It would not dent either clubs coffers dramatically and would get youngsters watching matches week in week out which can only be good for both clubs and RL in general. Plus they are unlikely to go unaccompanied in most cases so there will be a paying adult or two who probably would not be at the game otherwise.
