So you don't believe it but it remains that it's a fact that huddd families don't do fri night games, whatever their reasons- That people might have other things to do, or can't afford to come? Give it a rest. Heard it all before It's been done to death-nothing to talk about on the Leeds board? Aren't discussing your great new signings and grand final appearance?'"
You're wasting your time here Jools, one thing I did notice in the space of a couple of weeks is the gulf between Wire and Leeds fans, do I need to say which set think the are above themselves.

| Unfortunately our seats were empty on Friday night.
Don't make the mistake that makes us a part time Fair weather uncommitted fan. I support giants 7 days a week, not just on match days.
It was just not possible with kids situation and our weekend planned, so it unfortunately had to be sky. I still felt the highs and lows and would have loved to be there adding my usually booming vocal support to the cause.
Lets not slag off our own, rather think of developing our fan base.
When l look at how much our time we commit and money our family spends on the giants throughout the year with merchandise for all, beers and hot dogs, lottery, draws, programmes, sponsorship - personal and company wise , even opening a bloody giants saver account, I think mr Davy would consider me quite a good fan there or not on Friday..

| We could fill the Galpharm each week with season ticket holders and people would still say our support was crap.
We get a higher than average crowd, on a Friday night which are traditionally poorly supporter accross all clubs and people whinge there werent Enough there.
I've been watching the giants since the mid to late 70s through thick and a LOT of thin.
But I 100% understand why people may have stayed away on Friday night.
And to those people who were there on Friday, can I ask 3200 of you where were you in the mid 80s?

Unfortunately some of our posters forget that being a supporter comes in many different guises and i for one would rather have quality than quantity.
Two examples being the blokes sat near to us. one is an old bloke who the only time you hear him is when things are going badly for the giants and booms out, " bloody rubbish", " player xxxx you are crap".
He just undermines and demoralises anyone near him not good for the youing fans.
Then there is the shaven headed embarrassment who at various times comes out with foul mouthed language constantly. His best this week was.
=#FF0000Aint having that posted, too sensitive an issue even now...Lee
He was at the game but i wish he would go off and play on the railway lines.
Whilst lots of other teams are happy to bag our attendances our own fans joining in is not particularly helpful. I understand peoples frustrations but it would be better to put that energy into something constructive.

| I have said this before and got alot of abuse of some giants supporters. BUT Giants fans are the only sports fans i know who will come up with any excuse not to go to a game. I envy fans from other teams on a friday night who have loads of fans Including CHILDREN, in Huddersfield its like there is a kerfew for children past 8 o'clock. Our fans need to step up.

Tell you where, me and my dad were painting the dressing rooms, cutting the grass at fartown on a ride on mower, repairing the stands, then I would come back down at night and train with the likes of Billy Cook, Jimmy Johnson, Big Dennis, Frank and Boothy and it made my day when Frank the kit man gave me an old Fartown Jersey with no8 on the back to train in.
Then when they became the Giants weekends were spent again with my father off to watch amateur games scouting for players, he had the likes of JJB, Gilmour, Westwood to name a few down for talks before they signed for other clubs because we couldn't afford them!!! He managed to pick up the likes of Stuart Cocker, Steve Booth, Mark Moxon, Adam Hays and the Ryan Hudson, Paul Jackson, Leroy, Eorl ect after them.
That was after my father played alongside Rob Valentine, Spanky Dyson, Bob Hagan, Tommy Smales ect in the 60's. Me having played in the Colts with Fazza and helping out the 2nd team when short. So as you can see I like many others, have given alot to Fartown.
That's where I was during the 80's ect but what relevance has it?
Are you saying if you were not watching thru the bad times we don't want you as fans now cos that's stupidity.
I welcome everyone who steps thru those turnstiles to support the Giants with open arms and so should everyone else cos it's not like we are full up at the moment!!!!

You can't blame people for not going tonight after the garbage we've had to sit through in the past weeks.
Simple fact is after last week I'm surprised anyone went at all.'"
As a Hull FC fan I can comfortably say this is a pathetic excuse.
We have had 5 years of the most boring rugby ever yet every home game over 10,000 (on Friday nights) and we always take a decent number on the road. I respect the Hudds fans who go and I don't know why they is so many stay aways when you can achieve crowds over the 10k mark. Its either poor marketing or the people of Huddersfield are not very loyal to there team.

No you missed my point utterly, my point is why not congratulate the fans that did go, rather than bleating on again about the ones that didnt.
Why not take a leaf out of your examplary book and rather than posting on an internet forum about "pathetic support", go and volunteer to hand out fliers or something.
The more fans a club gets, the more fickle they become. Accept this fact and stop giving them another reason to not bother going.

There were probably a few that were and probably lots that weren't but what's that got to do with it?. Unlike you I don't understand why people stayed away (except those with young children of course). The trouble is when the chips are down there seems to be hardcore of around 3000 ish who've turned up which for a team who finished 4th is really poor. I felt sorry for the players - looking round at the empty seats they must have felt heartened that so many people had not bothered to turn up and show their appreciation for what's been a difficult second half of the season. We have still finished 4th. The bigger debate is without support the team can't flourish and progress, if we can't progress we'll maybe never win anything and we need as many people at games as possible as Ken and the club are trying to do. It must be very frustrating for the club. Maybe some of the people in Huddersfield just are'nt bothered either way - its a shame.
