End of season form has nothing to do with it. I had a season ticket this season and gave up going after the Warrington home game due to the sub standard fayre that was on offer. I have better things to do with my time than turn up and watch half hearted efforts that were all too frequently on display. You couldn't give me a season ticket now. I've paid to watch worse Giants sides but at least felt they were doing their best. Sadly this "better" side doesn't seem to think they should give their best every week. Well, if the product isn't up to scratch I for one won't be buying.

agree, came away from games disappointed even after a win, it never seemed to improve.

hike in price too that got me doubting buying one but was always going to get one in the end!

No debate from me. Been a fan in much whose times than finishing 3rd. As my dad says you are only entitled to cheer them on when they are winning , if you cheer them on when they are losing.

Your quite right. I'm not committed so I'm leaving. Maybe some of the players should follow suit or else fully commit. The Giants are nothing more than a form of entertainment to me however to the players and coaches the Giants are their liveliehood and they should start acting like that's the case or do the decent thing and go do something else instead.

Ironic how fans complain we're not signing enough quality players so they aren't buying a season ticket/coming to watch us anymore....do they not realise that's one of the main reasons we AREN'T bringing top quality in because we haven't got enough fans to finance these players !!

That's because, clearly, the club isn't signing better players deliberately to annoy them and if people don't turn up to watch the team Ken Davy will have to reveal all the signings he's kept hidden in order to lure them back.

Or alternatively the club could be trying to do it's best on the resources it has and people should grow up and stop taking everything personally like a bunch of stroppy, spoilt teenage girls.

Me and my group of six plus two extra kids are all signing up for another season. We as are club are building without doing a DR K. We are bringing through youngsters at a steady rate connor, kruise, Johnson. While acquiring shall we say less fancied players with the intention of improving them.
I think our club is getting closer to where we want to be but even if it doesn't get there you cannot argue that the team, club, experience is in a far better position it was 10 years back

Disappointed though I am overall with the season, I'm still happy with overall development of club and team with the resources available (as I believe anyway).

Just ordered my season ticket. Asked for back middle of brit. Got row TT seat 126 BR 5 or 6 (line was bad). Personally I can't wait for next season.

My current feeling is not to bother. It's not the players or club that I have a problem with - I've been watching long enough to consider this past season a near miracle of performance - it's the whole game.

General thoughts as to why, in no particular order

New league structure is utterly bonkers and the fact it wasn't laughed out of the room at the first draft merely reveals the desperately poor quality of administration in the game. It's a brilliant sport in many ways, but it really is run by utter morons.

Low refereeing standards causing me to genuinely consider, for the first time, that the refs may actually be bent. Didn't watch the match last night, but I've read the comments. I do wonder more and more. If the refs are bent, then the game is no more valid than WWF wrestling with a ball. As I'm not a 13 year old boy, I'm not paying for that e.

Lowest playing standards I can recall for many years - that St Helens side winning anything is a joke, and the other "big" clubs (including ours) should be ashamed of letting them get so far.

Ongoing refusal across the whole game, from the amateur clubs to the Superleague, to even attempt to close the gap with the Australians. We're happy to be poor for the sixth consecutive decade, so why should I care if noone else does?

Poor production quality on Sky, with commentators so bad it's near unwatchable with the sound on.


I used to go to two or three GB/England matches every autumn, haven't even paid attention to it for since I realised noone in the game took it remotely seriously enough to even try and beat the Aussies. Now, to be honest, I'm this close >< to giving up on the whole lot.

I watched the All-Ireland Gaelic Football Semi- Final the other week. It was more intense and more entertaining than any RL match I've seen this year.

I'll give it a few completely RL-free months and see how I feel then. Doubt I'll get a season ticket either way. Too many Thursday or Friday games I can't get to.

I totally agree Steve, but the RFL don't give a damn about what us spectators think.

There really are some absolutetly pathetic rantings as to why people aren't going to support the club.

That's the difference between true supporters' and the glory boys', you've had it reasonably good for a couple of seasons' now Davey's not throwing money at your team your good time fans' don't want to know, there's a lot of disenchantment from your genuine fans' already on the quality of your signings' or lack of them, when you don't make the play off's' next season there will be a lot more of your fickle fans' deserting.

Some of you are missing the point. Regardless of whether you like my reasoning or not. There are existing supporters who are not going to renew season tickets. And these aren't just fair weather supporters. In fact it's more likely to be ones who have been there when we were getting pummelled week in and week out. It's these who are disillusioned with the game and the lack of intensity. The club and RL as a whole do need to take note before it's too late.

RL has a lot of hazards to it - lack of press, the rfu, inept management but by far and away it's worst problem is its own fans
