| A massive two pound- no how matter how many tickets you order, a phone call, 50p or a queue.
Either way it's less than half the price.
Some people are never happy eh!

What the hell do you want? For it to be delivered on a red velvet cushion carried by the priestesses of Avalon to the strains of some Wagnerian music?
£8 and 5 minutes on the phone. Fer crying out loud'"
Exactly !!
for a game like this the clubs could have easily charged £20 and some would have considered it reasonable.
It's £8 a ticket, or at most £10 inc fees and a trip to the stadium, which unless you live in another far distant town/county is nowt, what more do people want ?

| Perhaps it's because the giants aren't daft enough to leave the system open to fraud.

| I haven't seen electronic turnstiles in use for the Giants. There would be nothing to stop you printing off copies. Not sure how Town combat this.

| Perhaps I put my original post on the wrong thread. Let me be clear. The idea of a £8 ticket for the match against Leeds is an excellent one. We know that we are having a problem attracting crowds this season. The cost for the occasional spectator at a SL is £24 on the day of the match which is substantially more than it was last year. However it appears to be £21 if booked ahead of the match but in reality it is not £21 it is £23 with the booking fee. Trumpeting a saving of £3 if tickets are booked ahead of the match when there is not such a saving is not a way of winning customer goodwill and will not result in repeat orders, ie people coming again. Town and many other organizations seem to be able to solve this problem without fraud on tickets so why cannot we?

| Whenever i get tickets to the theatre or a gig online I've had to pay a booking fee- (often more than £2) however when i ring the venue direct it cost me nothing- the giants is no different to how many other online ticket systems work. But it's not necessary to pay the booking fee. You can ring up and collect which costs the price of a phone call- which for me at least costs nothing. So £21 really can be £21 if you want it to be.

| When Ken was in charge of both clubs, an electronic ticketing system was investigated and more or less agreed upon.
Since the takeover, Mr Hoyle has gone down a different route not agreeable to the Giants. To now go down the electronic route would necessitate a huge financial outlay.

| The system could quite easily accept giants going down the electronic route as its the same system run by ticket master when you buy online! As for fraud the system in place only allows the bar code to be scanned once if anyone was to try and print out more than one copy the system wouldn't allow it and the ticket would be denied!

| Do the turnstiles have electronic ticket reading equipment?
If so they could use that
Unless Hoyle is putting an exorbitant price on using it.

| I would have expected any equipment to be owned by the stadium management company and therefore part of the managed service. I would have thought this would have been the same for the front ticket office staff, the steward and catering teams/

just buy the damn things cos I'm sure if we get to a final folks will be happy to fork out ten times this amount to be there and if it does happen we will all be looking at you and thinking where the frig were you when we were playing Batley and Leeds!!!
Electronic ticket machines and booking fees WTF, I will be driving over from Leeds and picking my 3 tickets up this week, reckon will collect my magic weekend ones at the same time, might save myself 20p in petrol

| Let's face it if the tickets were free, people would still find something to moan about. I just hope we get a good turnout and the lads put on a good performance. If we don't get a decent amount of home support for this then I despair.

| I think the fact people can watch it on TV for nowt will also go against us no matter how much we charge - some people simply will not come to the ground to watch the match if its on TV,

| This is the spirit the club needs to be engendering (quote from field of dreams). Some great parralells to the North of England and Rugby League.
if you discount it they will come.
“Ray. People will come, Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. "Of course, we won't mind if you look around", you'll say, "It's only $20 per person". They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and that could be again. Oh...people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.”

That's very true but only if we make everyone possible aware. Most of the Giants promo work will be seen by people who go looking for it like us on here. We've got to get the message to people who don't go on the official Giants website/Giants forums/Facebook/Twitter or the back of the Examiner. I work in Morley so it's mainly Rhino fans but only a couple regularly attend games. None of the part time fans knew about the £8 offer but showed a big interest at such a bargain. So before they've had time to back out i've told them to bring the money in before I finish work in the morning(i'm on nights) and i'll go collect the tickets when I collect mine and hand them out at work next week. I know they're 'Rhino' fans but it's bums on seats which is extra cash in the pot and if the public of Huddersfield see a big crowd on tv and an entertaining game then it could be the kick start our club need. So far i've collected money for 22 tickets with more promised tonight when I go in to work. If more could do something like this then we'd need a bigger stadium never mind rattling around in it. For the sake of a few mins here and there we could make a big difference to our club and help Ken achieve his aim. The club do as much as they can with resources available but nothing beat word of mouth advertising which is US! C'mon sell this game to your friends, family and work mates like you've never done before and let's see what kind of attendance we can attract.

| Been to pick some tickets up today and there was a bloke at the window who had purchased 3 tickets for Town's game on Saturday, he asked woman at counter before he left - " whats these giants tickets for £8 a piece i've heard about ?" so she explained the offer to him and while he was there he said - " oh go on then, i'll have 3 of them too at that price". Obviously i dont know whether he is a rugby fan too but the impression i got was that he wasn't really so well done to whoever that was and hope he enjoys his day !!.
