If you look around the pharm on match day the people who like to make noise, chant etc, it's the centre of the Kinler bank. The riverside in general is quiet. The few of us, from our relatively small crowds, who do try and create some atmosphere were never going to compete in a stadium like Wembley.

Thank you very much to all the fans of other clubs for cheering for us. I've seen my team play in front of about 350 fans not long ago. Going bust. Then the Superleague debacle, promoted before anywhere near being ready, merging and finishing bottom of the league 4 seasons running is hardly the best preperation to try and out sing a team as well supported as Warrington. Not having a go at Wires fans but look at how their crowds dropped and all the booing at the start of the season. Imagine if they'd suffered as we have. A team that's played every game in the top flight since day one. We'll be years, if we ever, at all get anywhere near matching that level of support. Don't get on the backs of the fans that do go, be happy we have increased our support in the last 30 years and hope a small measure of success will bring increased support for the future. Young fans are already starting to sitt at the back with us, singing along. They are the future. We need to encourage them.

And if you're Wire and reading this, Well done on your support yesterday, FANtastic!!!

In a final we do get behind our side, yes, but there are still people whinging in that crowd. I know. I've been near them! We just take more, so they are not as obvious. But they are still there.

Come on be fair, Knowsley Road is not so much a ground more an archaelogical site!!!

We have a great ground with all top notch facilities, we have a really good team and we do have a small number of very dedicated and vocal fans but for what our chairman and his staff including the players have laid on for us in the last few years it's a very poor return....and I'm not talking about numbers here, our home attenances are decent now...pretty steady and competitive...it's just the level of noise we create, even for the derby games...9 times out of 10 we are always outsung by the away support!

You pay it a compliment! We just think of it as a wreck!


But honestly, if you were to visit Knowsley Road as a Saints supporter, it would be no different than what you have described in terms of vocals. It's only the 'pop side' (the longest standing side) that ever gets vocal anyway and the only time the place livens up vocally is when the match is a really tense affair because both teams are in a pitched battle. We've had three of those this season: Wire, Wigan and Leeds. The rest of the time, the away support - even the Celtic fans bless em - have outsung and outnoised us. Honestly! It is true and is a subject of much baffled discussion on RedVee. Yet our away support is generally very vocal (with the exception I think of the CC semi - when we all saw the writing was very much on the wall from very early on in the match!).

Well i have just spent 10 minutes reading what i can only describe as complete non sense, where i was sat it was quiet reguarding chanting, but the lower tiers were ok, but lets face it, since when does a giants crowd make much noise and chant in unison? At home games we get out shouted by catalans! I am 100% supportive of the team and i do sing my heart out but did anyone think we could out shout the wire fans. Im just PROUD to be a Giants fan, What a fantastic season we are having. For people to come on here and slate the fans who showed up at wembley, well thats really gonna make them wanna come to the galpharm!

Fair enough, but I don't think any of us are saying we should of outsing the Wire fans....we could never compete with that kind of dedication and passion.....but we were awful, there was next to nothing. Not good enough support, not good enough performance, that's partly why Wire won the game....the other bigger part was their fantastic support and them being a better side on the day.

If they are the same fans who Daz said left after the final hooter and showed no interest in clapping the players or showing their support for getting us to Wembley, nor made any attempt to galvanise the team during the game then frankly they can stay at home.

This was the only reason wire won on the day, nothing to do with our support, we need to be encouraging fans not putting them off by saying they need to "be Louder", if they are new to our game then they are hardly going to sing our songs! If the final increases our home attendances by 5 or 6 hundred people then its been a good thing, but with people like you slating them then they are not going to want to come again.

There were 1000s of Giants fans singing and chanting and there were thousands who did not.

I saw loads of groups of people singing BUT could hardly hear anyone.

I was sat about 6 or seven rows behind a lot of Giants fans singing and could hear nothing. I was one block away from Robbos lot and all the others who were chanting and heard nothing.

The only way we would have been heard was
A if we were winning or at least competing
B If Wire were losing or playing as badly as us they would have ben quiet which would have led us to be more vocal.

Whatever you say about ANY teams fans there are those who will sing , win , lose or draw. There are those who will sing when they are winning( the majority).

Yesterday started off very badly, two tries which should never have been given and then us being denied two tries ( one of which should have been) although i have noit yet re - watched the game.

I felt flay after the first two minutes and did not think it was going to be our day. I was still singing at the end. I do not blame all the others who had given up.

If we could have had all those who would have sang together, if wembley was a better stadium, if ticketing was done better, if our end was not full of neutrals who would not sing anyway it would have been different.

Nah, nah, nah. Some people leave simply because they've lost and can't handle watching or they've lost and think there's no point in risking missing my coach/train/taxi (which they would have risked had they won) or simply are on too tight a schedule to stay longer. Finals are big events and most people leave quickly after being the losing side at a final (some leave quickly after winning it too!). Only the die hards or people with stronger nerves/emotions stick with the team when they have lost. If you let go the fans who leave on the button then you'll generally wave goodbye to the majority of your fanbase, and that aint wise for any club!

Good post. I met you at the hull fc away game a week before the semi final! I told you i lived in hull (hudds born and bred tho) At last another giants fan who is proud of their team and not finding other things to moan about i.e the crowd singing! C'MON THE GIANTS

Ok last thing about this from me on here. All I can say is that from the start until the end even I was in awe of the Warrington fans, the colour and the noise they generated...they treated the occassion like it should be treated. It was wasted on us. Fair play Warrington and chin up Giants, at least we can look forward to pasting Celtic next week.

where i was sat we were chanting on and off throughout the game, and to be honest everybody around me were doing the same, and also to be honest other than a few occasions i couldnt hear the wire fans either, cant see any point in bagging the fans who went to wembley at all and whatever anybody says the start of the game was a massive anti climax, when we drew level the support was great in my area but obviously cant speak for elsewhere, but once we went 18 - 6 down it died a death. fair play to wire fans and ours i thought it was a great day just a pity we lost to the better team.

It was fairly noisy at times where I was sat, but then it was probably in one of the most populated areas. It was still nothing like the semi final, but then the circumstances were very different. Part of the problem was we simply did not sell enough tickets, cup fever did not hit Huddersfield in anything like the same way it hit Warrington. The build up was fairly flat here compared to Warrington and perhaps this affected the way the fans were out enthused by the Wire lot from the build up walking up Olympic Way to entering the stadium to cheering and singing as the game went on.

i am not saying im not proud - i was probably one of the proudests people in the whole of that stadium yesterday - i was one of the last Giants fans to leave, i realise not everyone is noisy or likes to sing but surely the point of going to a cup final at Wembley is to support the team.

We were battered in the 1st 15 minutes and our players needed a lift from somewhere, they needed to hear the crowd was behind them and supporting them - but they heard silence as once again our fans - who were quite happy to make noise at the semi final - decided to not bother because the team werent winning.

I dont want this to cause friction between our fans as i know theres some that are quite happy to sit and watch the game in silence, but i am and always have been one of the noisy, passionate fans and i just thought that being at Wembley for a cup final we had a great chance of winning may have encouraged some of the glory hunting/day trippers etc to get behind the side - i was wring and i will just have to accept that supporter wise we will never be in the same league as most other teams which is a damn shame for how far this club has progressed.......

there was loads of empty seats by me in the top tier and huddersfield town kick off at 12.00 agains yeovil an got 13,000 what a joke

I have decided that trying to sing 'Take my hand....' with only 3 voices (mine,Wuzz and Wadski's) was not a very good idea but we did try! Sadly no atmosphere where we were in the upper tier but my goodness the noise from the Wire fans was awesome. Very disappointed with our performance and felt very deflated afterwards, still onwards and upwards, I haven't been to OT for a while, now that would be nice...

Firstly I have to say how proud I was to be there yesterday - it was a honour to see the C+G at Wembley. Fair play to the lads for getting there - lets hope its the first of many Wembley visits.

Everything felt flat from the off to be honest - walking down wembley way felt like a Warrington home game and it was a party that we hadn't been invited to.

I was so deflated after the match (and still am to be honest) and felt as dissappointed by the experience as the match - these days don't come along that often and you've gotta grasp them.

I'm just so pleased that I was at the semi - that was an atmosphere.

I know I'm sounding negative but its just how I feel at the moment I'm afraid - definitely think Daz has made a point that needed to be made.

I was sat behind a couple who were moaning about my pint glass dripping on them when I was standing up to sing abide with me, they were moaning at me standing up and singing behind them, they didn't even stand up for any of the tries! I had to remind them they were at a cup final. I would suggest that if you are offended by atmosphere you should get back to the club wembley seats were you can enjoy your prawn butties in peace.

OMG!!! You were at WEMBLEY!!! It is your calling to make as much noise to gee up your players as you can! For the last 20 of the first half you had Wire run ragged - a bit more noise from you lot at the start of the seconf half COULD have made the difference, could have inspired someone to fill the creative void left by Browns injury.

You should be ashamed of yourself, at least your players gave it their all and never let their heads drop, even if they came up short.

that is the point most of us are trying to make !!
