poor execution was Giants undoing today.Had the chances but wasted them

Must admit I was worried about this game beforehand but that was probably our best display this season.

Refs fault AGAIN?? Just take it, you lost

Saints played well we didn't. No there probably wasn't 18 points between the two sides but I don't imagine Nathan Brown will be too happy about our defence for several of the Saints tries. You can't let Saints have a 10 point start especially not in those conditions and if you're going to spurn as many chances as we did.

Thought Raleigh had probably his best game of the season today and Brown probably his worst. Was also impressed with Wheeler for Saints.

Alibert i thought was shocking but he missed things from both sides so ces't la vie.

I didn't say saints didn't deserve to win. But the ref was shocking and no way it was an 18 point game. Good unbiased report on the BBC (for a change).

Felt sorry for the Saints lad who went over the boards at Half time. Certainly not a deliberate bad challenge.

Glad to hear an opposition fan say this. Wheeler is a kid who is well liked by the Saints fans and rated by many within the club. Outside KR he is very underated.

Lost it in the first half, just didn't do enough and left ourselves with a mountain to carry second half.

Not sure the scaoreline showed how close it was but ATEOTD the better team won.

Ref was poor and Saints were a will drilled side and deserved the victory. A very hard side to break down today. Congratulation on the win and a great following by your fans as per usual.

I've never seen the garlic muncher have a decent game even when we haven't been involved. It's time he was dropped and a young ref from the NL was given a go.

The ref was fine. He got the key decisions right. We have to give French referees a chance. Like blooding their players at Catalans and Toulouse their referees also have to be given the stage upon which to grow. Alibert isn't the best refereee ever, some of his interpretations and general control are at times suspect, but he is a far, far better referee now than when he began refereeing in Super League.

Totally dissagree with all that mate. He's the worst ref i've ever seen and i've been saying that for a few years not just because we lost today. He's had at least 3 years over here now and he's got worse if anything.

The top teams seem to beat you dont they, wire, saints, tells you thing ha.

I think Saints were in control of the game aside from probably a 10 minute spell in the second half. I didn't think the ref gave anything too dodgy from where I was stood. If anything he pulled back what looked a legit try from Kyle Eastmond for a forward pass. The Giants had plenty of possession but didnt really create much with it. Thought Robinson was your best player today. From us it was a really good all round team performance and difficult to pick out a man of the match but I would go for Wheeler.

I try not to worry about or comment on the officials. Yes they make mistakes and give puzzling decisions at times but generally they even out. In my experience 99% of the time the team taking the points home usually are the best team. I dont think anyone could seriously say we were not the best team on the day today.

It dose. They played and performed better then the Giants. I'm not worried as I know we will be in the playoffs come end of season.

Saints were by far the better team all the way through and deserved their win, but that is without doubt the worst reffing I have seen in over 30 years of watching the game

If the radio commentators thought he did well, then either they were watching a different game to me (alibert certainly was) or talking out of their hats.

Well done saints, you took your chances (even when they were manufactured by Alibert) and we didnt (including the penalty try we missed out on but should have had)

I was sat amongst you Huddersfield fans and could not believe the sheer volume of shouts for forward when it was clear the passes were not even close to forward.

On the odd occassion when players did pass the ball forward it was picked up, with one exception.

This exception was when Saints moved the ball right and one of the passes was clearly forward. Disastrously for Hudds the ref then pulled Hudds up for a penalty for a high short or lying on(cant remember exactly why), Saints then went down the field and scored.

Take not kids. Drugs make you see things differently just like this nasty mister

Even you may admit Uncle Albert made some strange decisions in disallowing 4 Giants tries for forward passes, possibly correctly on 2 of em but allowed Saints to get away with it?

Boots and all will be very interesting watching, like to see Graham's try again cos in goal ref gave it after Uncle Albert originally said no.

Don't get me wrong you were the better team on the day and deserved your victory, thought Graham did well for you too, but as my friend rightly said, in truth you were not better than us by 18 points regardless of the scoreboard!!!!

Giants fans were shouting for everything.

the ref did not play offside today and saints adapted to that better than we did. But he refereed that the same for both sides . We however were out enthused in defence and out muscled in the pack. That is why some of our more creative palyers looked poor especially Brown and Hodgo. We did not win the collisions in the centre and hence there was little room outside when we got the ball wide.

Alos a fe wof the decisions were given by the toch judges and the in goal ref and nothing to do with Alibert. the ball steal at the end had the Giants fans near me in apoplexy yet it was a steal. Dodgy stood up and laughed as he knew we had ben pinged.


Nothing to do with the ref today. we were out enthused and outfought en dof story.

Also think nathan needs to spend some time this week thinking how he is going to play his pivots. there is no way you can have Brough, Brown, robbo and lunt on together ( particularly against what must be the biggest pack around)

Alibert was unsighted therefore according to the rules it was his duty to confer with the in-goal touch judge because that is what he is there for. FWIW I thought it was a fair call, he just made it to the line, before being pulled back by some eager defence, but I would like to see it again.

I thought Saints in all dominated proceedings both in defence and in attack. We struggled a little bit to make ground in the second half and Giants capitalised on the wind. I also thought Alibert had a decent game, made mistakes for both sides, including a blatant knock on by Giants on Saints' line from which the ball was then thrown forward by Lee Gilmour, and continous lying on and messing around in the ruck, but no more than the norm. Refs make mistakes as players do, but it's how you respond to that adversity that determines whether you deserve to win the match or not. I think Giants players need to look closer to home for blame rather than blaming the ref. They will be up there or thereabouts come the end of season, that's one thing I am sure of.

Pretty much agree ,the ref was bad but he was the same for both sides,the better team won but tbf there was'nt much in it,pretty similar to last years home game against the Saints,also spoke to Leroy before the game and he said he was rested also hear Mason will be back at Easter

I'm damn sure he was stood right over the top of it and was the nearest official to the 'try' yet decided to go with the in-goal touch judge who was further away.
