| What a great result. If the ref and VR had picked up the strip on Ferres and the obvious knockon from Welham it would have been 12-26.
Giants should have had a penalty for the off the ball on Grix by Keating and for the running in our line from Weyman, could have easily been 12-38.
KR offered nothing.

| Good win considering the home crowd had no interest in supporting their team tonight but spent 80 minutes booing, hissing, barracking the Referee....after giving him plenty during the warm-up too, were they really expecting him to be kind to them after that ? not that he was kind to either side more....funny how the 'ref's aren't e' when they were winning or we were having tries disallowed !! It was comical at times listening to them and apparently we were cheats and didnt deserve to win and we got lucky.
I was actually embarrassed at times for them !
As for our performance, again, very very patchy but again we grind out a win...not pretty...Thought Larne was the difference when he came on, Broughy's kicking game was very good but his passing left a lot to be desired tonight i thought, 3 or 4 very poor ones which gave the receiver no chance to do anything with.
Nice stand too, was quite impressed with it !

| I spoke to a few decent ones on my way to the car daz. Think we came to the conclusion that the ref was very consistent.........at being poor.
Shame on the kids who decided to give the rude hand signals as they walked in front of the new stand as they left the stadium. And more shame on their parents.
Awful defensive display from us-especially in the first half.
And still giving away stupid penalties!
Oh-and I had 16-26 as my prediction

So what's with the none existant away support? The few who came did well and were vocal but really? Don't play the midweek game card either, I live in West Yorks these days and I was there.....

no excuses, our support is poor, most people choose to stay at home and watch it from their armchair.
i thought it was a good hard game and could have swung either way, obviously radio humbersaaaard were saying the turning point was hodgy's no try but for me the difference was the halves, broughy's 40-20's specifically turned the game our way.
we didn't play that well again, turning over too much ball and giving silly penalties away but yet again, we ground out a win, and i will say it again, we don't get extra points for playing well, tough place to go with 8,000 people booing and jeering for 80 minutes so very pleased with the result.
always nice to see the rervers fans magnanimous in defeat walking back to the car, i felt embarrassed for them

| I'm always loath to knock other teams support, I look around Craven Park and often wonder where the 5000+ we've collected over the last 8 years were prior to 2006, so no issues with me about the numbers you brought...
I just hope those that did come enjoyed the experience, had a safe journey home and spread the word to their friends etc.
Al the best for the rest of the season...

| Congrats on the win...
I thought that Brough's kicking game, combined with some good solid running from Kopczak, Patrick, Crabtree and I think it was Ta'i(sp) was most prob the difference.
Both attacks were a bit clunky and for quite a dry night there were maybe a few too many errors from both sides. I think Anderson alluded to it in his post match comments by "winning ugly".
Whilst I was not keen on a couple of the refereeing decisions, i'm sure you will come away feeling the same with some against your boys.
As for the booing of the official, some of it is an overhang from Thaler's visit a couple of weeks ago where many felt he penalised us out of the game. The rest is just good old fashioned home advantage - sometimes it equals pens and decisions in your favour, sometimes it doesn't.
Good luck for the rest of the season!

| I think PA summed it up best when he said "I've just said to them 'imagine how good you can be if you keep hold of the ball'."
If we continue not completing sets and giving away stupid penalties like are are doing there is no way we'll do anything in the play-offs. Having said that, the daft thing is we could still retain the Shield looking at our run in!

the new stand is great, enjoyed the game and of course the result, i didnt enjoy the tanked up corporate numpties who were getting more and more annoying as the free beer flowed and the constant whingeing of the rovers fans.
i did enjoy putting a rovers fan in his place after the game when he said that our fans won't know about rugby league because we have only been coming for 3 or 4 years, from a hull kr fan!! priceless
thanks and good luck!

| Thought it was a very scrappy game with very poor refereeing for both sides.
Hull KR were very average and only made yards from penalties and mistakes/ball steals.
Most of the Giants team were below par.
As for going to "friendly" Hull you must be joking. I stopped going in the 1980's due to the unfriendly/hostile/aggressive atmosphere. looks like nothing has changed. why waste time and money to not enjoy the event.

well considering most of us on this topic were there i guess you want us to make excuses for the ones who didn't come ?
Erm:
It was away
It was on Sky
Those are the 2 main reasons we don't have big away support !
Also, it was in Hull, and due to past events there is plenty of older supporters who won't set foot in that town again !!

| I don't understand why, with 10 minutes to go and a 10 point lead, we started playing 'catch-up rugby'! In those final 10 minutes players who don't usually pass the ball started playing as though they were half backs! As the minutes counted down it got worse. Bough's kicking was excellent, but why kick on the 3rd and 4th tackles in the last 5 minutes?
We made the score look respectable for HKR.
I usually like Mr Thaler, but last night, together with certain Mr Silverwood decisions, oth ways, mind well.....

| well we certainly have a winning mentality at the moment and long may it continue....certainly know how to win ugly and id rather that than we lose.
thought Taai was immense lastnight with his powerful running.
also patrick and brough were great.... bailey is a very classy player..adds so much when he comes on.
feeling abit let down by broughton at the moment though, not taking the passes..maybe just rusty but expect to see more otherwise will be hoping to see a speedy murphy return.
great to get a win at hull kr again, was thinking deja vu when they scored in the last minute, bit of payback for the draw they stole at the start of the season
all the hull kr fans and local radio moaned about bad decisions...there were some for both sides!! im just glad we are getting a few go our way at the moment because jeez we have had some bad ones in the first half of this season.

Yes I was thinking that at the time, maybe in the back of their minds was the events of the last 3 minutes at home so another try would put them 3 scores ahead and kill the game.
