I also feel that had Fa'alogo stayed for one more year and been put back in the second row we would have seen a different player, the player we saw briefly in 2010.

i do feel players tend to suddenly try alot harder when contracts are due for renewal yes...seen it on many occasions for it not to be the case! playing for their contracts and livelihoods soon gives them a kick up the backside. give them all one year contracts, would soon have everyone on top form!

I have to say that the Giants are not coming out of this very well at all.

As someone who has been involved in a number of unfair dismissal claims i have some real sympathy for Mason and if the club are found to have done wrong then they have no one to blame but themselves.

as for the mooning picture and the accounts given in court it seems as if the club were looking for a reason to get rid of Mason.

We were quite happy to keep Griffin after he clobbered a girl in a taxi and threatened to beat up another Giants player if the said players girlfriend gave evidence against him, bringing the club into disrepute was not such an issue there

Reading through it myself, It does seem like Mason and his team have a pretty solid case against you. The fact you had already sign CK - And had to pay a compensation fee for tapping him up too doesn't help you.

That £165k payout has to come out of the Giants cap over the lifetime of what would have been Masons contract.

If we were at 99.3% of salary cap there may have to be some big reductions this year and next to balance the books.

This is not on the same scale as the Bulls had with Iestyn but bad enough.

I dont expect us to be seeing anymore new players announced apart from Bailey and Broughton.

The legal advice the Giants got sounds pretty poor to me. On the basis of what i have read i thought that Mason would have had a good case ( i would have taken it on). To the let it go to court and all the embarrassment that has come out of that sounds like complete folly to me.

Oh dear, someone cocked up big time within the Giants - doubt heads will roll but this is pretty serious letting it get to this point, surely someone must have clocked that what was happening was wrong.

It beggars belief that Mason was ever paid that sort of money. And that reason for sacking him came straight of the Beano. Someone needs to be relieved of their duties. They are clearly not fit for their job.

But he did free up roughly £120k of cap when he left.
