Fuey's certainly got another 18 months, if not more.

| RT said at the fans forum that he will be back training with the squad from tomorrow. Didn't elaborate just stated it as a matter of fact.

| I don't think Cording has really done anything to warrant being dropped in my opinion, really seems to be finding his feet now he's had a stead run of games.
I also thought Mullally looked fairly good going forward on Sunday.
That said, an on form Dale Ferguson would be great.

| I think Ferguson should definitely be in contention for Friday night. He's gone really well at Hull KR and played lots of minutes as well. He couldn't have done much more after having gone on loan in terms of attitude or application. I'd be tempted to put him in.

I agree, he looked good when I saw him on Sky and the Hull KR fans seem to like him.
The question is: Who would you drop?

Think its a gimme Ta'ai will be out and presuming he was just rested then Fielden will be back in.
Its a toss up between Cording and Mullally but probably drop the latter and with Easter coming up maybe give him another game (Hull perhaps) before then and see how the land lies for the 2 Easter games when changes will probably need to be made with the 2 games so close to each other.
I'd start with Lunt as a statement of intent too.

| Dont agree bringing him straight him, Cording and Fairbank have done ok so far and lets remember they need more game time to improve too. He has to earn his place surely ?.

The real problem is the system where clubs have no reserve teams or are allowed over age players in the Under 19's so the likes of Ta'ai, Cording and Fairbank have to get match fit in the first team or be farmed out on loan (as the way Batley are playing doubt they would give them game time on Dual Registration). I can see the point to save money but how many 18 year olds at any club are ready to take the step from their level to the first team and I fear the good intentions on player development will not yeild lots of quality youngsters year on year as they are likely to spend a year or two kicking their heels without getting the games under their belt need to progress.
At least it should be an Under 21 or even Under 23 league IMHO.

I see your point but if he doesn't replicate that form its not really fair on the young lads....this is one of the good things this year, the competition for places can only bring the best out of everyone.

The problem is do we really have competition for places (apart from George/Murphy) as if the squad was fully fit the 1-17 would basically pick itself with Lawrence replacing the revolving shirt of Mullally/Cording/Ta'ai. I do not really see anyone pushing Chan, Ferres or the 4 main props down the pecking order.

I would hope Ferguson will be pushing these two for their spot, though maybe Ferres being vice captain means he almost gets picked automatically? I'm not sure. A fully fit Ta'ai might also push these two.
Put Ferguson at 11 or 12 and he is a different player altogether.
How would Cording or Fairbank go if they were playing on an edge? I would imagine they'll be much more dangerous than just running up the middle as a third prop.

Ferguson will help with competition and Easter should tell alot where ideally we can make a few changes between Salford and Widnes to give a few fringe players a blow then the Challenge Cup not long after, whoever wants to get the gig should have a chance to make their mark in the next month or so and lets hope going into May Baloo has a selection headache week in week out with players fully fit and at the top of their game.

think mullally is competing with the 4 props so there is competetion there
lawrence looked like being in the first 17 with chan and ferres.. and odonnell but hes gone now so its taai and ferguson competing with cording and fairbank
