Sense of perspective the deadline for cheap tickets is just under 2 weeks away so I guess we will know the real situation then, a fair few people will use some of their November pay packet to buy their ticket and hopefully the days between 28th and 30th Nov will be very busy down the ticket office.

Or perhaps he thinks by the 30th November deadline most will have renewed and you have no proof whatsoever that they will not.

Deadlines are there for a reason and people know it makes no real difference if they pay up on 1st Sept or 30th Nov but some of our fans think they are superior just because of when they renewed (and yes I have done so myself as funds allowed but was going to wait until 28th November pay day but a back dated pay rise sorted that)

Nobody really knows the numbers so no point really going into it. Humorous to see the "I told you so.." type garbage get spouted though.

I'd like to put forward the suggestion that negative, know it all, pious garbage posted on internet forums does far more damage than any of the perceived negatives or failings that these people seem to find worthy of wasting bandwidth on.

Tomorrow, once I've calmed down and gathered my thoughts, I may put it in writing to this forum c/o RLFans and hopefully by this time next week things will be completely different. If not, well, I shall practise what I preach and go and set up my own club and be SL Champions once we're admitted to SL at the next round of franchises after our formation.

I can't see that 4000 people have waited until November pay day to renew- especially as its the last pay day for money to buy Christmas presents for many. The club rely on season ticket sales to plan-as it's guaranteed income. Without ken we would be in a right pickle right now.

I wont be getting one unless my financial situation improves! But even for those who can afford it i cant say i blame them, some,like myself,daz,jools,paul etc will still support this club out of habit and loyalty,others though will have lost enthusiasm after last year. Lets fave it there was nothing to be enthused about or entertained for the 2nd half of the season and for that reason a lot will simply walk away and find other things to do, im not knocking it but thats the reality. The club had a big chance to push forward and increase the fan base but now seem to have missed the boat,the lack of communicaton and transparency towards the fans wont be helpiing either!

IMHO despite the sarcy posts from others i think that those fans who have some contact or influence on the club should be trying to use it NOW.

There are many complaints and suggestions fans have made and the club have seemed to respond to them very slowly.

Now is the time for those who can influence things to try to make some changes to help maintain the clubs current position so that things do not deteriorate further.

I will still attend games and support the team ( finances allowing). But i would really like to see the supporters club and the Club do something to work together to build the fan base of the club.

The club should look at a monthly payment system- a bit like it works with car insurance. I know they do a system, but it's not spread out enough to be affordable for a lot of people.
Could pay £15-20 per month over the year, and you would pick up your ticket prior to each game. or even better they could sort out the swipe card system. To take part you would have to be taken up prior to September by anyone interested, that way you already have paid something prior to the season and if a payment is missed you can't collect your next ticket or your swipe card won't swipe. I know it would take a lot of setting up but if it makes it more affordable to more people it could be worth it.

I haven't renewed but I will be before the end of this month - 4 tickets all told, no net gain as one of my friends isn't renewing due to work commitments

Don't forget a lot of people get season tickets as presents

Last point - I'm sure I read on this forum a week or so ago that we'd sold plenty tickets and were on track to match last seasons sales...might have been in the Examiner. So as has been pointed out, threads like this are based on hearsay and rumour and do no one any good

club expecting things to get busier now the fixtures have been released..people working out if its better to get a season ticket or just pick and choose the matches

also the club open day is next saturday and the deadline isnt for another 2 weeks..

also like code says it was said in the examiner abit ago that the season tickets were going well..

threads like this and hear say about ticket sales just bring out the doom and gloomers...

but IF true and we are selling poorly then you can see why we have sold eden, maybe if we sold more we could keep all the players but we just cant. ken davy will soon just be asking himself yet again does the huddersfield public actually want a professional super league club??

we still offer some of the cheapest season tickets in super league, if its down to economics then all the other clubs will be struggling too..but dont think they will be as much as us, we finished on a big low last season.

we prob will never know how many season tickets get sold, we just get a rough figure every year, nothing official..the first home game attendance vs london broncos will give you a very good idea of how many we have sold.

Spot on Code13.I emailed Richard Thewlis and asked how many season ticket have been sold and was told the figure was 2,250 but as the sytem was down this figure may be quite higher.I have no problems whatsoever obtaining answers to any question I ask except as I have said before questions that could have legal implications.Jools says she couldn't get an answer all I can say to that is she must be contacting the New York Giants.Try again Jools if I can get through I'm sure you will be able to.

Not sure how accurate but just been picking my kids season tickets on line and it tells you how many seats are left in each block of the stadium.... I did some simple maths and it looks like about 4500 tickets are not available to be purchased (not including upper tiers of Golf Direct Panasonic and away end.) Dont know if this equates to 4500 sold, but would think it a good guide). Maybe not all the doom and gloom that people are making it out to be.

So my number from a club official at a community meeting 2 weeks ago is hearsay but a few hundred more isn't? Isn't it all hearsay? i expect people to tell the truth... Silly me.

No Jools, the point is both number come from "club officials" and neither are probably close to accurate. Neither "club official" will actually know the numbers and certainly neither should be bandying them about.

A quick look on the Giants website at the available seats shows that in the Brittannia Stand alone there are 2432 seats taken up, over 1000 on the Media Stand and 2300 in the Direct Golf Stand

so...5700 so far by my reckoning

Don't forget that sections of the stadium are kept empty for press,advertising and corporate tickets- for instance the section behind the dugouts are reserved for such. I'm not sure why you think the numbers shouldn't be made public- why should it be a secret?

Yes I know that. But a section behind the dugouts doesn't account for the difference between 1800 and 5700

As for keeping them secret there is such a thing as business confidentiality
