| I'll repeat my post from another thread:
Robbo said last night that, as a group of people, they are happy and friends.
As a group of players they are as frustrated as everyone else.
He repeatedly said that no-one could put their finger on what is wrong. He was adamant that it is mental, it's in their heads, for whatever reason.
He asked "Don't you think that if we knew what was wrong, we'd put it right? Do you think we like losing? Do yo think we're doing it on purpose?".
In addition, he said that everyone thought Baloo was a great coach and they all respected him totally.
He wasn't talking the party line, he was talking from the heart.
He also said that, whilst he is a realist, they still DO have a chance of the Grand Final, albeit a small one. As someone said, "Whilst you're in it, you've a chance of winning it".

| I'll put this in for what it's worth.
Before the game when all those rumours re: Larne spitting the dummy and walking out crap, first surfaced, his agent was asked if it was true. His reply was 'That's news to me'
When further questions were asked, he replied that NB had created a load of trouble before his departure and the club were in the process of sorting it.
It would appear this is proving more difficult than originally envisaged.
Give it time.

| Yeah
The problem is bloody obvious
Brown should never have been given a chance to muck us about. Thewlis is supposedly super stubborn when talking with player contracts yet he let Brown stay/leave/stay/leave/go to Saints.
He should have been given the boot first time round end of story.

more than likely Ken Davy makes decisions about head coach contracts. Just like McManus at saints, Lenegan at Wigan. If NB was around then KD wanted it.

then you'd lose your bet.
I will defer to you about barking.....back to the way a club is run
Strange you think a gifted businessman who loves the club would be so indifferent to what is the single biggest decision the club makes.
Furthermore i have been told KD :
- has regular board meetings
- calls into RTs office / lunches with RT at least a few times a week - try asking Giants staff.
- is updated regularly via phone etc
- is at all Giants games with RT
- signs the cheques
The idea that RT sneaks another year for NB past the board of directors and in particular ken Davy is laughable.

Anderson took over after the worst string of loses since before we were relegated. This problem was accentuated by the Kevin Brown saga. Add to this the depletion of out and out props by NB (something we all expect PA to correct) it may not be something that can be turned around in a few weeks.
I will judge PA 9-13 games into 2013 not now.

| Rather like the sorcerer's apprentice. PA has only got the same ideas he has picked up from NB. That's why it is always best to recruit from outside. someone with fresh ideas and not too close to the players. Good cop cannot suddenly become bad cop.

Not true in many sports the promotion of people from the inside allows for continuity and good culture.
You see this in American football and football, Shanky, paisley , evans, dalglish anyone.

Smith, Elliott and Noble did okay at the Bulls.
Wane - lifelong coach at Wigan - has made a decent start.
Baloo played under winning coaches - Smith Elliott Noble Millward and Daniel Anderson
Baloo coached under Sharp and Brown and is part of the England Knights set up
Baloo spent time in Oz with coaches like Haseler and Sheens
Worth giving him a crack.

Why? Has PA got some sort of memory loss we don't know about that means he cant remember anything pre NB. Is he not able to read or think for himself therefore isn't able to employ fresh new ideas from others or himself- did the memory loss for some reason become extended to the fact finding weeks he spent in aus speaking to and watching other coaches and sports professionals at work.
Makes me wonder what you do for a living.

Nope
Personally I was not in my original post suggesting anything like that
I was offering a tiny suspicion , despite the public spin, that it aint all its cracked up to be -- for reasons unknown
As Durham points out internal "promotion" maintains continuity in a lot of cases
You cant argue we have certainly got that -its more of the same at the moment
Fans on here who with the greatest of respect havent got your inside knowledge but have been probably been "around" (I use that term widely) this club longer than you CG are obviously not party to the inner decision taking and never will be
But - and think of him what you will- when Alex Murphy was here - and asked him a WHY? question you got an answer (or I did) whether you liked it or not -it was a justification
You extol the virtues of kd / RT relationship and so I have no reason to question your knowledge
Therefore if as close as you claim -- my original call for the ship captain to take charge - and get to the root of what appears to a growing number of faithful to be a malaise within the club - falls flat
From your statement -the "partnership" IS where the book stops and I amongst others are under an ignorant misapprehension
For that I apologise But my feelings remain the same re indications to to the wider fan base
Jools Daz DG Meast Moggie Shelley Sparky et many others who I regret I do not know personally but have "GIANTS or FARTOWN written right through could be termed "believers"
They aren converts or glory seekers - that milestone was passed with the ARK
When such as these are frustrated and losing the faith -- believe me there IS problem
I repeat therefore that to maintain confidence "in the outsiders camp" and my view that the overall picture will be much brighter if WE ALL pull togetherr , the ongoing feeling many fans are getting that that they are bums on seats is clearly dispelled , and instead of fairy stories of rosy gardens in the media, we are supplied with some facts of whats caused the hole we are in and who is in charge of fetching the ladder
I believe that in the circumstances to be a FAIR request
If not ....................then who knows!

| the season was over about 7 week ago and half the players are treating it like that. we have alot of players looking like they will be gone in 2 week and are just not interested anymore.
brown was the problem in the end but we got rid of him to late to make any difference at all
there looks like theres gonna be a big reshape in the squad which is needed and next season is the main focus this seasons gone

With a moderate understanding of business practice - which is what i think i have - it is obvious that certain key (business defining) decisions will be made by the board / owner. In RL the appointment and contract of a head coach will be a business defining decision. The suggestion that this is done without someone like KD knowing is absurd.
I am a fan and do not expect to be party to decisions of the Giants (or in football for me Man City). i would think myself silly to have such an expectation.
Some choose to see a malaise while others see the most successful Huddersfield team in decades. My father who has been a fan for close on 50 years does not think the 7th placed team in the league + cc semi + the best young local players in decades + gates of 7/8K is a malaise. I agree with him. I am disappionted with the post easter events but cannot bring myself to feel the gloom and despair of others, nor do I want to.
However if passionate fans who care about the club want answers I think the Supporters Association would be a great place to start. The SA's recent feedback from Robbo was welcome. i have read on here that Ivor says the club support the SA and there have been reports of meetings attended by KD and other senior people.
Why not join the SA - if not already - and ask them to arrange an evening with KD / RT and other board members. That way all concerns can be raised. And the SA can write up the meeting on here. Just a thought - (and not trying to tell the SA what to do.)

We've already had a meeting with Ken as our guest - and he is willing to attend in the future. {And despite extensive publicity, it wasn't a 'sell out'.
RT has also said he is more than willing to be a guest.
We'll see what we can do.

| Why Why Why have we had to wait about 15 weeks for that great display of guts determination team spirit and skill !!??
Play like that lads and I wont be whingeing if we lose! Honest ---cos the opposition will have had to go some
With 13 on all match --one wonders!!
Top drawer and to do it with a man off --absolutely tremendous !
Now use it as a kickstart to whats left of this ,next season , and Kens ticket sales !
PS If someone has got to the root of the prob as I was wanting - and addressed it ---theyve done a bloody good job
Well done!!
