There's no way Wigan will pay anything near £800,000. They wouldn't pay half of that, we only got £250,000 for Joel Tomkins who's alot younger and was a natural successor to O'Loughlin as Wigan Captain. I'd imagine asking for similar ie. £250,000 you'd be pushing it.

This is awful news. Once again one if best players and captain lost to another team. If anything will unsettle the team it is this. Kev is a great player and our leader, senior man sold, best be some positive news on the horizon regarding new signings because Lunt and then brown in exchange for a bit of cash does nothing at all for me!

So he signs a contract extension to 2015 just under 2 years ago - what is the point of a contract again???

i could not figure out why barrie and terry kept bigging up KB. They talked about him again and again. he had a sound game game but several of our lads were better. Then KB gets man of the match! awarded by...terry and barrie.

Steady on everybody. Kevin has made this decision himself from a purely personal point of view. We know what he had been through to become a dad and so surely can't begrudge him putting his family first.
If kevin was still playing HB then I'd be more upset- personally I'd rather have fooey at loose on a regular basis.
We have decent players who can step in at LF - and we get a rather large transfer fee so it's a good move for all- most of all kevs family.

A pity.

But not a disaster and life goes on. There will be some quite exciting news before next season.

lack of ambition on kevins part for me, as previous posters have posted does seem to bottle it in the bigger games, sorry to see him go but for us to take the next step probably needed, heard rumours 2 months ago he was looking to go back that way just suprised that its widnes hes going to. From what i hear though brough rumours unlikely to be true but u never know.
Lets hope that baloos trip down under resulted in him having spotted some players to replace kev.

A shame, he's been a great servant to our club but he has a family to think about and there happiness is more important than our entertainment.
