come on..patrick is one of the brightest young prospects in the game!
he puts his body on the line with every run he does, powerful and takes some stopping.
as for the defence ive not noticed any problems with it at all.
maybe he is being watched more carefully by the opposition now after being somewhat an unknown last season.
as for kirmond...it has come to light that he missed 10 weeks contact work during pre season due to a nasty finger injury... no wonder he has been behind the other lads and not been able to get in the team.. until now that is. hes fast, powerful and can step off either foot, think he will get back to his best now 100% fit
'"
No need to say i'm crazy fella. its how I see it. As I said, he scored a great try against Leeds and is very quick, but I feel he is a player who is great when we are on top, but when the going gets tough, I feel he is not great defensively and is spotted. Kirmond for me is not a 2nd rower, and i'd give him a run on the wing for a few games. He did play a pre season game but was dropped for bad defence.

Is squad 'better' than still to prove?'"
I forgot Horne who i think has really improved this year so i would put him in with the probables.as for squad better than to prove not really.
I think those in the squad have not done enough or are unlikely to shift those who they are in direct competition with for first team places.
as for the still to prove i was quite impressed with Wardle but would like to see a bit more off him. he could push his way in at centre as could Simpson or just turn out to be a squad player. same with Fergie and kirmond.

Try against Crusaders in the play offs was certainly done at a vital time and when the team looked down and out.

| I'll be honest stella, i can't remember that. I believe that after 7 games lots of people are making judgements, as fans do, even though not all the squad have had a run of games to get into the flow of things, and that in 8/10 games we will probably all have different opinions. I think for the next game NB will rest 2-3 who have been starting and we will still have far too much for Wakie. As injuries will inevitably come (doof) its good that the rotation takes place so people can fit in easily when required.

| Re: Larne, it shows how far we have come when a player that most SL teams would love to have in their squad isn't that highly thought of by one of our own !! ....i know its each to their own but Larne Patrick is an awesome talent and will be a huge, huge player for us and probably England for the next few years, yet someone else doesn't rate him that highly
thats the good thing about our squad, we are spoilt these days as fans and can afford to 'not rate' certain players within it.
Kirmond ,again is a great talent but injuries have curtailed his progress recently and maybe a loan spell at Wakey for a month may do him a world of good !!

Think a couple of players could benefit from this. Perhaps Dale Ferguson back to Wakefield to get regular gametime could work?

| Quote ="The Eclipse"It's is just unbelievable that people are saying Simpson over Lawrence.'"
Why?
Not sure I have seen him beat a man or make a break this season, not sure seen him make overlap for his winger?
Not sure about Simpson yet cos hasn't played centre or had time to settle but Bruno not on the pace at the mo so give someone like Wardle the chance if you ask me

| Looks like we'll find out the best 17 in a weeks time. NB says in the examiner today that this week will be the last time he rotates the squad.

Yep I read that too, after the Wakey game, it'll be more settled, although he did say he has not messed about with the 1, 6 and 7 positions.
I think come middle of next month, they'll all be fine tuning/sharpening up the attack.

| I'm gonna stick my neck out here, but I think another senior player will be rested. Brough, Cudjoe, O'Donnell, Grix all have played every game so far. I think one of them may be be rested.
