| Agree with dgiant post totally.
This thread started about great atmosphere from robbo and then goes on about singing. Sure singing is part of the atmosphere - Like flags are too - but only part of it. Why was Friday night so special and why was i ho at the end ?
I did not sing - but I shouted my heart out for the lads . Booed the opposition. Tried to intimidate the referee, and the vt ref. Tried to put Brett off his conversion, and cheered for sheer delight when we scored.
And why?
because it really mattered!
We have been on the edge of success for a While now and then we seem to lose it especially in front of the sky cameras. When people have looked to see if we are serious contenders we have faltered.
But this year feels and looks different.
And what can one man and his son do to help. Shout our hearts out and try
and help motivate the 17 out there. To let them know that it really matters to us how they perform and let them know that we believe in them.
To let them know that we believe they can be truly successful.

| i didnt mean the atmosphere at home games is fine, i meant the fact that the kids from the RS grow up and move over to the KBS and join in the singing when there older which means that we are gaining more singers and therefore the atmosphere will improve because of this.
I would love to see and hear the Galpharm like it was on friday at every home match, i return from every game home and away without a voice due to all the shouting and singing i do, i just wish every other supporter could say the same as it showed on friday what a bit of support for the team means to the players.

Fair enough. I misunderstood your post. My concern is that lots of kids come to games some will stay with it and many will drift away. I just think that if we can maintain the atmosphere we had on Friday we will keep a higher % that we might otherwise lose.
If the club could be more proactive on this i think the benefits would be there for all to see.
Although the club does some good things ( balloons, rugby balls, the hilarious half time entertainment with the two fans on friday was a classic) i feel they could do more for no extra cost and very little extra work.

| i agree... i've said for years were getting it right on the pitch but still lack behind other clubs off it.....i would love to see a packed Western Terrace at Headingley on Friday making some noise and cheering the guys on for 80 minutes......as i'm sure the players would too.

| Aye, I'm in France from Friday, I'm gutted I can't go! But I think something needs to be said, really. I've been a fan of this club since I was 4 years old, we were sh*te, and we had a little, yet faithful group of supporters at games, I loved watching Fartown because games were fun, and although we'd only get 900-1,000, we'd have a laugh, and enjoy the sport. My dad's been watching them for 50 years, he'd never seen a Challenge Cup Final, apart from when he went to watch Halifax, he's now coming up to 50, and the look on his drunken face when we win makes me feel good inside .
I just want to see us win a trophy, and we should really get behind the lads, we need a good group who'll shout and although we do have it, I think more should try and get behind them. It's hard against Harlequins and Catalans, but we need to try. It'll really lift them, and the crowds will come with that. Rant over

| end of the day we can all go on about the atmosphere at each and every game. its nice that we could get the atmosphere like that i mean i would even go as far to say it would have been better if it was on a sunday with a packed out away end and more giants fans in there. but like most teams leeds,kr saints at knowsley road with these brilliant atmosphere's they are all in a stand standing up also there stadiums aint to big for them.
but if we can start getting some more games like that then we are deffo looking like where going in a good direction

But that does not make sense.
Did we have a good atmosphere on Friday Yes or NO
If the answer is Yes then the size of the ground or having standing vs sitting areas becomnes irrelevant particularly when it was our lowest crowd at home all season ( i think)
If we had a better atmosphere the question becomes
WHY
Why is the most important word in the English language because it makes you look for answers to find understanding
What can we do to help replicate the atmosphere on Friday
I have put forward what i think is a practical workable realistic idea. Everyone elses attitude seems to be Que sera sera
You have to build on everything that you have otherwise you will go backwrds. IF Bradford are getting 14,000 or 20,000 to games how long before they overtake us AGAIN.
|How long before buses and flyers are advertising in Huddersfield for fans to go to Odasal for BULLMANIA.
Maybe i will write their tagline
"Bullmania more atmospheric than the Galpharm"

| compare the wakefield atmosphere to the warrington atmosphere
totally differant
people couldnt be bothered to chant or anything againt wakey because they expected an easy win, whereas v wire they thought we were underdogs and were ed from drinking fri night
we should lose our voice every game not just against the so called big teams

| Agree there Brearley ..........against Wakey there were groans from the crowd when we lost possesion and people were getting frustrated, they are obviously used to seeing us rack up big wins against wakey, but on Friday the difference could be seen and heard....people up on their feet clapping and encouraging the players when they made mistakes.
the point being that the 'easier' we tend to view the opposition the less the crowd think the players need our help......well i dont see it that way, they proved on friday they can do it so lets see it happening when we play the likes of Wakey, Quins, Catalans etc as well as the 'big' teams .
Hurrah for the Claret & Gold !!!!

| personally speaking i prefer night games, fair enough i dont get to that many sunday games but when i have been the atmosphere has usually been pretty flat, but under the lights etc it seems to energize the crowd more.
friday night was superb,i was at the back with trav and a few others on here and it was brilliant watching and hearing the crowd so involved.
like DG says why cant it be like that every game? why cant we be more vocal and intimidating to the officials and opposition? i know the vast majority of our crowd like to sit and watch the game and relax but surely there's enough people who like to be loud who could all move to the back/middle of the kilner bank and likewise in the riverside and get the place rocking.

| I sit in BR stand, sometimes at back with loud lot or right in middle, I think people at back should sit more in middle so people around them will sing. When I do sit in middle I get the feeling people feel unconfortable singing because people around them don't! The only problem is reserve seating so even if ya wanted to try it you couldn't all get down there! I tell you now if you did manage to do it the whole stand would rock like away games when people feel more comfortable! Anyone noticed that?

| the singing section is a good idea but unlikely to happen imo as most supporters at home tend to sit were they always sit and are unlikely to move for anything, i sit at the front of the br stand and as a group we try to join in with the chants from the back but the middle section does appear to be very quiet.

Ha Ha Ha. I have great pleasure in admitting I was wrong. It was rocking last night behind the sticks. No rain, No cold wind, just a great time with best fans watching the best team win. Got some vids on my phone. We sounded loud, even without a roof on the shed.
