Chris Roberts is fit and well and still works at the Examiner. Pete Barrow is the Giants reporter, and has been for a couple of years.

i got a reply from pete barrow saying chris roberts had been seriously so barrow was covering for him

It has been 2 days since the friendly against Wakey and still nothing in the examiner or the Giants official website. Totally embarrassing that we cannot even update the official website.

Jake Wardle has confirmed he got an ankle knock and could be out for up to 2 months. The lad doesn't get a break does he.

Don't know why anybody is surprised Giants get little in the Examiner.........there was something in the examiner 12 - 18 months ago about them entering some sort of partnership with Town so it was obvious what was going to happen.I suspect it's more a general examiner policy than a particular reporter. More baffling is the lack of any report about the Wakey game on the Giants website.

Baffling, frustrating and downright hypocritical!
The club keep asking the people of Huddersfield to get behind the club- and rueing when they don’t - but if the club can’t be bothered with a game - why should the people of Huddersfield!
No enthusiasm from them so they can’t expect enthusiasm in return! A couple of paragraphs to get people enthusiastic about the season that’s about to start?!? Won’t cost owt. Na never mind then. Gets my hackles up this apathy from the club.
My lads u13 side (won their league, unbeaten in all but their first two games and continuation cup winners) had a Leeds player do the presentation evening. First time it’s not been giants players in 7 years.
This kind of thing Gives the impression they are winding the club down.

certainly seems that the club are cutting costs, not on the playing front but on the staff front, you can tell too.

but then again ken davy has tried so hard to pull the crowds in over the years but to no avail so cant blame him.

he is paying the wages, but who is employing the ones who have held the posts before as they have been poor....thewlis?

hopefully ikahihfo, leeming, wakeman and symonds get a run out on saturday at workington to come off this list!

Before people start speculation etc

The worst thing about this is Hull on a Thursday night is a difficult place to get to from work.

People remember last seasons home match when we fielded an injury hit team full of youngsters and got soundly beaten.

The teams fielded in the two friendlies have been bereft of most of our overseas players and two most recent England internationals.

‘Don’t panic’ says Mr Stone predicting strong teams and a rare appearance by the elusive Tom Symonds whilst fielding Gene Ormsby one of the worst signings I have ever seen in C & G and trust me in 56 years I have seen quite a few.

We aren’t the biggest bunch of fans but at away grounds have made an awful lot of noise in support of our favourites.

Rumours abound, MRI scans, major players not playing in round 1 beyond the couple we actually know about etc etc but no factual information from the club whatsoever.

I have my season ticket but if I had to buy it right now I’d waver a bit because whilst I might care about the club no support is unequivocal as part of real hardline support is a regular interest in the club which it seems is totally ignored or the club attempts to assuage it with Stones ‘everything’s ship shape messages which at first you believe but now two friendlies in appear to be wide of the mark.

If the real hardcore supporters start to waiver then the club really is in a hole made all by itself.

I gave factual information from the club in my last post, apart from Leroy those are the current injuries and omissions from round 1, whether anything changes between now and then(10 days) remains to be seen but apart from those mentioned everyone else should be available for selection for Round 1.
Don't get what you want the club to tell us if there is nothing to tell??
