well the bradford 3 signing is starting to become true! well dont thewlis/anderson, have to feel for stone abit with his hands tied

i think gaskell will prove to be a good signing, he has bags of talent, was the 2015 player of the year in champ and everybody was after him, we secured him...dont forget we wanted him when he was at saints too but nathan brown didnt allow it and he went to money bags salford and played well for them too.

Underwhelmed to be honest, if we don't get off to a flyer, I can't see it being any better than this season!

Out of the three Bradford lads Gaskell is the one i am happiest with, I can see he would make a half decent replacement for Wardle ( if he is still leaving ) and also cover for the halves, But 4 years! Some one at the Giants will just never, ever, ever learn, I don't know who told Thewlis a lot of clubs were after him, Probably his agent, but he forgot to mention they were championship clubs.

Anyway i agree with Brearley you have to feel a bit for R Stone, first 3 signings, all championship players who used to be S league, that's the way to strengthen. Still he may be able to inspire them , Who knows ? Onward and upwards.

And I just wonder who may have been after Lee, no rumours ever from fans of SL clubs, maybe top Championship teams, whatever he is now a Giant and I for one hope he can reproduce his early potential and also the 2015 championship form

Wow hes a slick operator Thewlis while he was stealing Gaskell from under a clutch of top clubs on a 4 year deal Jake Connor signed for Hull !

According to League Weekly we have offloaded Ferguson to Wakefield.

That should put him with us about season after next then .

Knowing Thewlis we will get Connor back when hes in his 30s, Grix will end up here on a 2 year deal after his stint at Wakey and Ferguson will be back at somepoint. Kyle Wood will probably end his career here too

Who knows what went on at Bradford last season, some posters, supposedly "in the know" pass on 2nd hand "made up drivel" without knowing the true story, and basically for whatever reason just want a dig. If he can find his Saints form he'll be an exciting asset for next seasons Giants. Cloughs another signing with a lot to prove, let's hope he can also prove all the doubters wrong. Whether you're underwhelmed with the signings or not, we are where we are, Stones doing his best to assemble a decent squad in what seems a self inflicted farcical "off season" as far as Fartown are concerned. No doubt Stones got a few irons in the fire and I'm still hoping for a couple more signings before the season starts, We aren't a "money bags" club with star players lining up to play for us but I'm looking forward with anticipation to the "Stone revolution". Can't say I'm too upset with the players who've moved on, mostly mediocre players at best, with the exeption of "Big Eorl" a Fartown legend who looks to have retired at the right time with his reputation still intact.
The bloke responsible for this "farcical situation" has moved on and is now in the England set up


Time to move on, get behind the lads in the Claret and Gold and look forward to the new season.

Well the truth is none of us know how well any of these players will go Under R Stone, But he himself has been rumored as not wanting them ( don't know if there's any truth in that ) One thing is, I'm sure he will do his very best with them just like the rest of the squad. For myself Gaskell is the pick of them but I don't see the reasoning behind signing players we previously offloaded who have been playing at a lower level, but then i could see little reasoning in any of P Anderson's coaching.
I agree with you about the players we have moved on, I am just worried we are going to finish up with a squad of the same quality, However i have got my ST and will be shouting for them whoever wears the shirt, Can't be worse than last season.

Thing is about moving players on, sometimes they weren't ready and then develop later

Other times they are moved on despite being outstanding (who was it moved on Danny Kirmond? And why?)

Remember when we signed Lunt and everyone asked who?

Well no great surprise but will reserve judgement until after Rick and Co. have had a full pre season to work out the combinations/positions and get everyone fit and up for the flying start we will need. Plenty of so called good signings made over the years who totally underwhelmed so not despondent at all so far. Hoping for at least Mamo and possibly one other should Wardle go. Happy so far and will put my faith in Rick to get some significant improvements from all squad players -. could not be much worse than last season?

Can we expect to get Tony Tonks in as replacement for Crabtree?
