Considering that we had a first season, unproven coach and a team that fell apart in 2012 we were expected by a few not to make to top 8, one Wakie fan even predicted us to finish bottom!

So to finish the regular season at the top of the pile and to be 80 minutes away from Old Trafford beats all expectations.

I'm really pleased to just be in amongst the final 4 left and still with a chance of getting to Old Trafford.

Whatever happens tomorrow this year has excelled anyone's expectations already i feel...many people, including our own, had us written off before the year even began so to be 80 minutes away from Old Trafford and having secured the League Leaders shield with a week to spare is nothing short of remarkable compared to the feeling around the club last year.

I would love us to go all the way and prove all the doubters wrong and stick 2 fingers up to them but if we fall tomorrow having given it our all i shall be more than happy.

l too think we have had a great season, and have already exeeded expectations, l obviously want us to win on Thursday, win or loose l am very proud this year to be a giants supporter.
Baloo should be a cert for "coach of the year", and Broughy a good bet for "man of steel".

Defeatist thread. Lock it, start another one entitled "Win" and save the reminiscing for when the season is over.

Obviously I'll go curl up in a ball and cry in the corner if you guy's beat us, but after I get over the fact our season is over I will be rooting for you guys to win the final. I'm sick to death of seeing the same teams name on that trophy and to see your team lift it with Leeds or Wigan picking up their losers medals would be pretty sweet.

Whatever happens I'm proud to support the giants this season! All I want is for us to go there and give 110% and not be an embarrassing score line! Good luck to baloo and the lads!

I would love for us to win on Thursday and then win the grand final, but if its not to be then I wont be too downhearted, obviously that's not to say im not bothered about the result on Thursday, of course I will be gutted if we lose, but I will also see it as a great season in our history and the best season in my 25 years watching fartown,we have exceeded all expectations of everyone,possibly including our own chairman,coaches and players.
whatever happens on Thursday I would EXPECT every single giants fan to stay behind and applaud the team whether its to show appreciation for season just ended or for reaching the grand final.
im sure everyone who does go can spend just an extra 5 minutes staying back and showing support for the boys!

Just read Baloo's comments on this week, he expects the team to produce, it's what they have been working for all pre-season and during the season, he doesn't see this as an achievement, just a stepping stone to success, he has my backing 100%.

We better not lose. I can't make this game because of work, so I am not missing our final game of this most memorable season ever, no way, absolutely not. We are going to win and then I will be there to see the season finale at Old Trafford. THE END

Talking to one of the wags today- team are in great shape and mood. Heads in the right place. She said she could tell it was looking good- as she can tell when other half is nervous about a game.

If we don't win tonight I'll be gutted, OK we've had a terrific season and won the LLS but the ultimate goal is Old Trafford. Hope the lads put on a great show and come back home with a great win to prove the so called "expert" pundits wrong again. Hate midweek rugby, especially when you've got the M62 to endure at the back end of rush hour. Can you see the FA allowing one of their showcase FA Cup semi's being held on a Thurs night

Now is the time to reflect on the season, well what a season to savour, right from the first minute at Langtree Park to the last second of last night.

I wish to thank the coach Paul Anderson, the team and backroom staff, the fans and most of all the Chairman Mr Davy, truly a Davy wonderland as the song went last night.

Only been going to the rugby for 6-7 years as was a Football man before but have enjoyed the sport totally, the rivalry the banter, the family atmosphere.

Well done Giants 2013, I'm hoping we get an even better Giants 2014 I think with the youngsters like Jake Connor last night and the way the coaching team and physio's have conditioned the squad, a chairman to die for, we have a very very bright future

considering even our own fans wrote the team off at the start of the season we have exceeded all expectations and I am very proud of them.

It's been a great season and I think we've overcome a mental barrier this time out. We'll be better next year and genuine title contenders. I just hope we can get some more ST sales and some of the sceptics back down because the boys and Ken deserve it.
