| It's probably been removed for safekeeping! Barry Sherman was in the examiner last month asking what was happening to the building. The current owner put it up for sale for 3million around Xmas time but no one has shown real interest-It's biggest issue IMO is the lack of parking.
What a shame!

Think you might be referring to the blue plaque outside the George Hotel there Jools.
This was the one fixed to the boundary wall of the Fartown ground on Spaines Road, directly opposite Wasp Nest Road. When they first fitted it I wondered how long it might be before someone tried to remove it.Could be wrong but from the photo it looks like it might be some type of metallic substitute.Doubt it's worth much.
We await further news on this.

george hotel , not a bad bit of business by the new owner who has strung everybody along saying he will turn it into this and that , meanwhile just waiting for the value to go up then sell

Yawn! They didnt buy Odsal as usual you are talking complete crap.
They bought the lease to recover a debt thereby helping to ensure that one of the clubs in the top division didn't fold at the start of the season. That would have have consequences for the game as a whole if it couldn't fullfil it's fixtures at that stage. Mainly sky sports pumping less money in. Meaning less money for your club! But it would have brought the league into disrepute. you'd have had 1 less game for your season ticket too which would have gone down like a lead balloon.
They are in negotiations to sell said lease for a massive profit. Earning the game more money that it needs desperately.
How does that relate to a failed business owned by no one in the game in the centre of Huddersfield?
Short memories too. Remember how they helped you out with Sheffield?
Worked out well for them...

they bought the lease due to financial incompetence by a club before the season has even started - yes they did it because bradford effed up big time. Regardless of the reasons for it Bradford gained from it- yet it appears still continue to make bad financial decisions. In dire straits again because they insist on living above their means again and gamble paying full time wages they can't afford now they haven't made the top 4. Yes the RFL did it for the other teams....
As for Sheffield- Huddersfield were left with no choice, it was either merge or have their registration removed by the RFL. That would mean no team at all.
It's funny how Huddersfield/Sheffield is brought up time and again and hudds always made out to be the villain.
No one mentions hull/Gateshead or indeed how well the hetherington family did from the mergers!!!
You have accused other's of talking crap but you don't appear to know as much as you think you do.
The George hotel business is not the issue- it's the building that's important to RL. (And as it happens is architecturally a fine building) it also housed the Rugby League museum- the biggest collection of RL memorabilia anywhere.

Ok, so they bought the lease rather than the ground, still stands that they don't see the george hotel as an iconic venue but Odsal is.
And how did the RFL "help"us regarding Sheffield?

Bradford didn't gain from it actually the bank pulled the overdraft as a result and it caused the cash flow issue that brought about the first admin.
The club aren't in dire straits because of gambling on staying full time again you talk complete garbage. The account was frozen because of a winding up petition that was resolved some weeks ago. Meaning green had to free up the money from his own personal funds.
Let's hope you lot cut your cloth next season.
The merger came about because of your financial mismanagement.
The purchase of the odsal lease was just one of many property deals the RFL have done that have earned profit. Funny how they never get brought up by morons like you.
Maybe they don't want to buy The George hotel because it's a failed business? Who knows. You certainly don't

| You are talking ckaptrap! The merger was absolutely nothing to do with finances! Huddersfield have had no financial issues since Davy got involved with the club. If you had gone to the rugby heritage exhibition you could have heard the recording of the interview where Davy explains that the RFL gave him no choice. If he didn't agree to the merger they had threatened to deregister the Huddersfield club. It was yet another of the RFLs "ideas" -they wanted fewer teams and somehow they thought that it would encourage supporters to the game!
its laughable that you are trying to excuse the troubles Bradford had by blaming HMRC and the Bank- you didn't have the cash! If you had those sanctions wouldn't have been imposed.

Where have I blamed the bank or hmrc? Twisting things to try and start a row.
The only one blaming others for their own club's mismanagement is you.
Like I said next season you'll have to cut your cloth so that will be fun. Thanks for helping us out with the clear out though. The winners you've signed off us helped us to 5th in a part time league. You need a better feeder club

Cut our cloth? Not sure what you mean. We have managed to cut our cloth in SL very nicely- unlike Bradford we don't have any financial problems, we manage them and pay our bills on time. . Even if we end up in the championship we can still manage- as next year Clubs can spend up to full SL salary cap. Sorry to disappoint.
5th- Well done
If the rumours are true and Anderson has already signed up players you allude to they won't be our first choice. And if we are relegated those players who put their bodies on the line for you will find themselves without a club..... let's be honest- those players aren't the ones who let you down- How nice of you to be wishing ill on them- no wonder they want out. That and wanting a guarantee they are paid on time of course....

| Everyone can see this so they can decide whether I've wished ill on anyone or you're making rubbish up.
I am entitled to say their performances this season have been pathetic though because they have been.
I am glad they are going because they aren't good enough to play for Bradford.
As for putting their bodies on the line. There is a group of players that have signed for superleague clubs that reportedly refuse to play for the club again in case they get injured. They haven't been named so it may include the three that have signed for Huddersfield or it may not. The other ones that have signed for SL clubs are playing today though so make of that what you will.
Oh and you're stuck with them no matter what. Unless you switched to part time but you'll get a parachute payment to make sure that doesn't happen.

You are right- they aren't good enough! Very Poor signings from a poor side.
And they wil not be first choice- squad men in case of injury.
We won't be stuck with them if we've offered them a SL contract if we go into the championship as there will be a get out clause.......

Remind me how many millions Bulls got for talking the stadium of Bradford Councils hands which caused uproar with Bradford Council Tax payers who had no interest in the Bulls.
How was all this lost with crowds of 15,000, and a salary cap?

Remind me how many pennies Ken sold Town's stadium shares to himself for causing uproar with Huddersfield Town fans.
How many years will it take to repair the Giants' reputation so they can start growing their crowds again?
Both completely pointless comments but keep the mud slinging coming. It'll make Blackpool more interesting next season.

| Sir Ken never wanted to get involved with Huddersfield Town,it was on a Giants season review video where he said that after much hot air and procrastination from so called investors who allegedly loved the soccer club,he still had no choice but to move in at the 59th minute of the 11th hour.
So if you take on a clubs debts you also take on it's assets (shares valued at £2 by the administrators)
SKD put his own money into improvements in the stadium,to try and generate more money for the development company, so why should he just give the stadium shares back for nowt?
So like if someone came up to Hoyle now and said after all the money you have invested towards the stadium (if any) now give us the stadium shares for nowt what would you and the other soccer fans say.
