Leeming, Fairbank, Simpson, Hughes caught my eye

But everyone had a good game, the props especially played well

Ellis with two crucial drop goals and Brough with his kicks

A good 80 minute performance all contributed.

The only soft score we gave up was the first one, the rest were just luck of the bounce and conditions I think

If we have cudjoe back next week id put Hughes back to second row, drop mullally and play Fairbank.

Good all round team performance my MOM was Mcgillivary.
Thought Leeming actually had his least effective game for the Giants. Bentham does not get any better.

I'd drop Connor personally and put Wardle back to centre

We may not have a say in the matter Code three brawls we may have two or three players banned.As for Connor I will not condemn a player for standing up for himself, He was tapped a few times by Wolves players who Bentham allowed to get away with it.Still a very good result.

Great result today. We toughed it out and out muscled the experts in that department and with a young team. These lads now need to be kept faith with. I think both teams might get players being banned for foul play, but it's about time the ref also got a ban, that performance was terrible, absolutely no consistency at all, it must be a nightmare for players to play when that's happening and its annoying for fans too. I think we as paying customers are owed an explanation for the inconsistency at least then we might tolerate it a bit more if we understand why refs do what they do.

So so impressed with that second half.

to say he has been out of the picture for so long i thought fairbank was excellent, he was a beast in defence and showed some good stuff in attack

i was pleased with the way we seemed to wind them up and bully them at times, although i can do without some of the nigglier stuff,

jerry is an absolute monster and showed again today, why, if he played for wigan, leeds, saints or wire he would be talked about as an international player!

someone mentioned bentham earlier, it's the 7th time in 9 season he's refereed us in games v warrington, only ben thaler with 5 comes anywhere close. hmmmmmm

England also sqirted water over our players at the dugout after he was sent off. The Warrington directors thought this was hilarious as they stood up and applauded him. Needless to say, words were expressed in their direction.

Tony Smith wasn't around the guys I was chatting with. Anyway, we all shook hands at the end of the game.

There's also a shot in the examiner gallery from the game with England's fingers in wardles eye- another grade E. So if the RFL have any bottle that should be anywhere between 8-16 games for two grade E offences ..... dont hold your breath......

A word of praise for our props who out muscled Hill and Sims and set the platform. The guys showed that with the Crowds encouragement they can match the so called Top Teams. Nice to hear Tony Smith winge again and get his excuses in again.

TS whinges and whines all the time (maybe he has,spent too long over here and turned into a whinging pommie), this week he's blaming the 9 out injured, not sure how they coped with all their debutants, Ratchford, Ormsby, Bridge, Atkins, Monaghan, O'Brien, Myler, Hill, Clark, Sims, Currie, Laithwaite, Harrison, England, Asotasi, Dwyer and King.

He also thinks the game was too rough (funny how its OK when they get a win from these tactics they employ every week) Good to see us stand up to them, anyone notice all the fighting started after Huddersfield hit the front and got on top?

it seems every time we beat a top side, it's usually down to them having players missing!
for all the players wire had missing only, westwood and grix could be called regulars, the others have played bit part roles in their team.

but yet we had grix, cudjoe, murphy, ferres, bailey, wood, who have all been regular starters, yet we never hear about our players missing, is this because we don't bleat about it like most of the other clubs do or because the media just don't pick up on it?

Fair point but listing Grix and Wood who were out by choice not injury sort of devalues it a bit.


I think Wire have suffered more than most with injuries and O'Brien going off was a turning point but as you say they have a big enough squad to cope and they are a pale shadow of the side they were and maybe Smith is running out of time and ideas after being there too long.
