| Having read the posts this morning l must say most fans are being remarkably calm , so you will have to bear with me on this. This is my 2nd trip over from Portugal 5 games culminating in a 5 night trip to Catalan return to Portugal the following Monday, by that time l will have clocked up over 10,000 miles, and a large chunk of wonga, you may say its your choice and you are right, me and 2 of my grandsons are ST holders and l try to maximize its usage, l already have another 6 flights paid for, all for the sake of a bunch of CHOKERS, l don,t want to hear about bogie teams, there are teams that turn up and teams that don,t, to say l am hacked off would be an understatement, All Fools day came early this year. Should l be surprised, no, we regularly loose to the team proping up the league, Vikings next, they will be really up for an easy 2 points, a spirited Tigers away, another annual tonking,, finished off with a visit from the free scoring, Rovers, could it possibly be Giants 0 - 4 Banana skins. 2 weeks ago l thought our best chance of silverware was the Hubcap, forget it lads, The Rhinos will be going all out to win the Cup, we will also have to get passed the Wolves, who will be giving us another lesson in how to play rugby on the 5th of May.
Well l,m just about finished now, but if there is anybody out there who wants to have a go at me, nows the time to do it, l am really Mr angry.
ps If things don,t change l will be posting a new topic in the not too distant future, which will be the most controversial statement you,ve ever seen on here
pps good look to the CHOKERS for the next 3 games cos there bloody well going to need it.

| You've every right to be annoyed mate. No doubt the Superfan Gestapo will have a go at you & try & run you off the board for expressing your honest opinion. They always do. But you're a money-paying fan & have a right to your say, no matter what the self-appointed Giants Mafia on here think.
What the superfans don't get is that true fans like you don't mind losing, but what they can't stomach is a team not trying. Big difference.
Hope the team reads your post. And I hope you & your grandchildren see some wins on your visit.

| So would l, but thats not how its panned out, we are top of the league the Reds are a mess, good teams smell blood and go for the jugular, there are no excuses for a performance like that, again,
You are a decent poster, and you know l don,t like having a go at individuals, but you are sounding like an appeaser
don,t take it to heart l,m having a really really bad day

| I think its disrespectful calling these teams banana skins for a start as every team in Super League is capable of beating each other - as we see all too often its a case of which team turns up with the right attitude and mentality on the day - as yesterday, and most of our good friday games prove.
Obviously coming from where you do for the games i can understand your disappointment that they didnt perform for you but we have to remember we have 2 games in 4 days, maybe the players personally choose to save something back for the next game?.....not every team can play to a high standard and win every week. Yesterday was hugely disappointing again but certainly not the end of the world as its now become a regular thing to play bad at Easter.

| your opinion boomer which i respect but i feel you are being very harsh there.
the problem yesterday was that salford we better than us,faster than us and had probably had a better attitude than us, but i don't think anyone can accuse the team of not trying,if anything we were trying to hard at times to appease the moaners and boo brigade yesterday.
fair play to you for making the effort to get over but i IMO you are being harsh.

I do worry about the "regular thing" idea. Under Anderson I thought we had a new dawn but will we just fall back into top after 6 games, lose at Easter, slump from June, finish 6th or 7th, lose in first round of the play offs type cycle.
We need the season to finish to see how that pans out but we need to break out of our "norm" cycle and step up and show why Andersons Army is better than Browns Boys.

Agree it was the attitude that made the difference and thankfully Baloo thought so too, at least they have not got long to dwell on it and can put it right on Monday.

| The Easter thing is a regular thing now .....whether we like it or not, there has to be a reason behind it.
One thing about it though is its too far away from the end of the season to matter. plenty of time to make the top 8 yet, were not gonna get relegated, were still 3rd ....not all bad !!

| warrington and hull fc were also turned over in surprise losses, we werent the only ones yesterday.
but its really frustrating that we cant take advantage of other teams slipping up!!!!
i get frustrated but then think anderson needs time and will be a couple of seasons before he gets HIS team.

| Sorry. l,m late in getting back, l had to go out and see a guy who sells stuff to calm you down, unfortunately for you lot its not kicked in yet, so l dont care if you think calling teams banana skins is disrespectfull, these teams are down at the bottom of the league, just like we used to be, and they are there for a reason, they are poor , l will wager most of that Salford side will not be there next year, not even in SL, l don,t want to hear about teams not turning up, they are pro,s its what they are handsomely paid for, l turn up, l will turn up on Monday, l will turn up at Catalan,
l will turn up at MM, all bought and paid for, but maybe next year when they are selling the STs l just might not bother turning up, lets see how they like it. OK l,l get over it, people who know me know l am passionate about the Giants l have a nice little fan club in Lagos, but for now l am in no mood for excuses, and l will ride this into the ground, until l get it out of my system. its just not good enough.

I don't think that this is true at all. I didn't really hear any moaning or booing yesterday in numbers, so the players certainly won't have. In fact, I thought the Giants fans really got behind the team all the way through, particularly when we got back into it.
The damage was done in the first half before anybody had chance to get on their backs with countless missed tackles, dropped balls and incomplete sets.
Either way, the team should be professional enough to accept criticism either on an individual or a team basis when they play unprofessionally. I don't buy into the whole 'I'm a true supporter so will never crticise anything they do' mentality.
I'm a true supporter cos I turn up week in week out, but I also dont like being taken for granted.

| the moaning and whinging began before the first try!
admittedly it wasn't a large section of supporters booing but there were a few!
we did get behind them for the most part, but we have a large proportions of negative fans who are quite happy to moan and whinge but yet stay in their seats when we score, whats that about?

Not having a go at you meast, but this post is contradictory to say the least. Either "it wasn't a large section" of fans moaning & most fans got behind the team or "large proportions of negative fans" who didn't. Can't have it both ways.
If people have taken time to attend a match & spend their money then they're entitled to their say if they are displeased with the performance. I mean what should fans do? Say"oh great, we've dropped the ball/missed a tackle/tried a stupidly ridiculous offload on our own 20 that hasn't come off yet AGAIN....isn't that great? Let's all sing a song....."?
Yes there are some miserable sods who wouldn't be pleased if we did the double. However, I feel that the fans were pretty generous towards the team in their support yesterday considering the absolute pile of shiyite they got back in return.

| I didn't hear any booing from where we were sat (other than at the linesman who disallowed what appeared to be a legitimate score) but I did hear various people moaning yesterday - which IMO was perfectly understandable given the quality on offer.
I've been watching Huddersfield since I could only dream of seeing a team like this. I don't expect the side to be ripping up trees every week, but I do expect whoever is out on the field to perform with basic levels of competency. I wouldn't have thought this would put me in the minority.
If you don't do your job correctly you don't expect praise by those paying your wages, but the players rightly get chants of support and encouragement when things aren't going well. This is a two way process though, and if the players continue to make sloppy errors and poor decisions the fans are going to get frustrated. Like yesterday. And who can blame them?

I think that is the key. It easy to accept that the other team is better, it is easy to lose when you are outclassed or where someone plays a blinder. But it is not acceptable to be losing because players cannot catch pass or hold the ball.
Too many times this season Baloo keeps saying we dont respect possession ie we cannot catch. If they cannot catch get someone else in.

| But yesterday we were outclassed, the other team played better than us. We did well to get back into the game but the damage was done in the 1st 20 when we had a mare and Salford gained confidence on the back of it which they never lost. We have to give them as much credit as we slaughter our own guys.

I can only go on what i heard on the radio and the comment from Peter Roe at al was that we seemed to struggle to get past the third tackle without dropping the ball.
In other games when we have dropped the ball and not respected possession that tends to be unenforced errorts. That is what puts us under pressure and gives other teams confidence.

| I heard lots of individual complaints about players performance, but I didn't hear any co-ordinated booing of the team. The thing is we drop the ball too much and we give more penalties away than we gain. Normally we get away with this because our defence is awesome, against Salford we dropped off one too many tackles. Had Wardle nailed Gaskell or for that matter I think all Salford's tries came from a missed tackle, so if we had made just one of those we would have won. We need to learn from our mistakes and quick otherwise we are going to steadily slip down the table. Plus if we are having to do more defending than the other top teams sooner or later fatigue will set in and we will burn out and have little left in the tank come the end of the season. Sound familiar?

| What has happened to our defence? We played this game just like the Wakefield game. For all the first half and most of the second, we didn't move up at Salford's 'play the ball'. We stood in a line and let them run at us. Unlike Salford, who gave us no space at all. Not helped by the ref giving Salford a skinny 10 and taking us back 12m. Yes he did. I was watching and shouting at him when he did. Don't think he could hear me tho. But we gave them too much time. Combined with dropped balls and numerous penalties, again, and we were lucky to only lose by one point. Hope we put it right by Monday.

Lucky you. You probably didn't hear them screaming k***heads at them whilst waving their pints of beer in the air. Classy. a bloke two rows in front of me commented as to who came across as the biggest one- the guy putting his body on the line or the one filling it with beer- that raised a chuckle from a few. A shame he felt too intimidated to say it to them though.
I suspect a large amount of the bad language was for my benefit given that I'd asked them to stop swearing at Warrington the week before. I had my lad with me too this week. frankly I've had enough. But at least they weren't all chanting obscenities in unison this week. They won't listen so I'm not going to bother - ill just point them out to the stewards in future. They know me and I know them- some of them come on here, I really don't care what you think about me before the twitterati get going like last week. We dont need this sort of behaviour at our club and I'm pretty sure ken Davy would agree.

Everyone agrees I would think. That sort of ill-mannered nonsense is becoming too common now. I pulled a group of our fans for doing it just a couple of weeks back, again within the earshot of women & children. They did pack it in though. I wonder if it's the same lot?
Hope it didn't spoil your afternoon & upset your lad.
