| Well, everyone I see seems to be complaining about the rotation policy, what would be your best 17? Here goes nothing....
FB Grix - Solid at Full Back, we need to keep him there, he needs to be given time to become the best FB in Super League.
WG Cudjoe - He's not a centre, he's clearly got the speed to be a winger and its something we lack. I'd stick him on the wings, even if he's an England centre.
CE Simpson - NB's brought him in, he's got to be good, we need to play him at Centre. He seems to be solid, he needs time to settle.
CE Brown - Okay, I know what you're thinking, but I have reasoning, we have three playmakers on the field, and I feel he would still make a good centre. He's got good ball handling skills, he seems to blow hot and cold, but I do feel in play in our own half he can take the Second Reciever spot. We just need one of the halves to step back, and Brown came as a Centre. I look forward to seeing your responce on this one.
WG Jerry - He's Solid. 'Nuff said.
FE Brough - I think from the Five Eighth he can run the show more effectively, here's what I'm thinking - from Second Reciever he'll have more time and space to decide our play. He'll take over the game from Stand Off
SH Robinson - He can control the game from Scrum Half as much as from Hooker. Lunt and Faiumu need to play, so I would put Robinson there. He's too good to play for 40 Minutes.
PR Mason - He's solid and can give teams problems with his aggression.
HK Lunt - He's was England's best hooker at the 4N, yet he can't get a game, can be switched with Faiumu, and can be an effective replacement hooker, he does have an impact.
PR Griffin - He was our best forward last season, deserved the england space, and works hard.
SR Patrick - Too good to leave out for me, puts 110% effort in, he's a promising player, and game time will make him a better player.
SR Fa'alongo - Is superb when good, and we offers a lot at Second Row, is part of a superb pack and is crucial to it.
LK O'Donnell - Getting better and better each game, he's starting to Settle in here.
Replacements
Faiumu
Crabtree
Ferguson
Kirmond
I know a lot of people wouldn't agree, but I think this would bring the most out of the Giants.

Got to agree I am a bit confused by this statement also. I believe he needs some game time in the centres to see what he is like. Not a chance in the Best 17 yet.

Me too.
I think that people are suggesting we play a player that from 2 games has shown he isnt as good as the player he is replacing is absurd.
No doubt Simpson will turn out to be a good player for us, maybe awesome. Right now his place in the starting line up is not and cannot be justified.

| I think picking a best 17 is so hard due to the competition we now have, i've tried to work mine out but cannot get past the backs ....too many options and i dunno which are the best.......guess we can see why Nathan changes the team as often as he does as he has to pick it for real !!
Anyway here i go :
1.Grix - his form means he has to be the 1st name on the team sheet
2.Hodgson - his experience and finishing prowess wins him his place
3.Lawrence - solid centre and a good asset for the team
4.Cudjoe - wasn't sure whether to put him on the wing or centre but he's in !!
5. McGillvary - awesome player, on this form would get in any Super League team
6.Brown - got to have both our form halfbacks playing
7.Brough - is there a better player in SL this year??
8.Griffin - big hitter to rough them up
9.Lunt - soften them up before Robbo comes on
10.Mason - smash em early doors till the others come on
11.Gilmour - a player of his calibre and experience has to be in my team
12.Fa'alogo - big hitter, big runner - has to be in !
13.O'Donnell - coming into his own - the lads a machine !
Subs:
Eorl - huge impact off the bench
Patrick - same as Eorl but with speed
Robinson - what a luxury to have this guy coming off the bench to terrorise em !
Faiumu - what a player to bring on !

Exactly, ATEOTD it's 2 points doesn't matter if it's Wakey or Wire both games provide 2 points if you win. We should not be resting players, just rotation and keeping them all fighting for their place.

| I think NB is doing a brill job rotating players and it's exiting to see who gets in the squad, my only worry is the centres and wingers as I think that them partnerships need time to gel and should only switch them due to performance issues or injurys. That said I completely trust in what NB does

I can see what your saying about the centres and wingers, although the time to 'gel' is i the run up to the business end of the season.
What he's doing is keeping them all fresh and piloting different combinations, so if needed he knows they are not coming in with no gametime under their belts and straight into a must win situation.
It's no good us playing our best combination all season to then lose one due to injury/suspension and no B plan when we're in the business end.
It's a very clever strategy NB is deploying, over a very long season, with 5 wins from 7 and 27 players rotated is smart.

| I don't know why so many people highly rate Patrick and Kirmond. Great going forward but always spotted on defence. The awesome try Patrick scored against Leeds last year was top rawer, but i've not seen anthing of note since. Is Kirmond quicker and safer than Hodgy? give him a few games back on the wing, too small for back rower for me.??

| While i am not totally convinced Danny Kirmond is quite the same since his knee injury i think Larne Patrick is top quality. You mention his defence but i have never noticed a problem. According to the SL stats page he has yet to miss a tackle this season in four games. Last season he made 408 tackled in 21 games and only missed 15.

come on..patrick is one of the brightest young prospects in the game!
he puts his body on the line with every run he does, powerful and takes some stopping.
as for the defence ive not noticed any problems with it at all.
maybe he is being watched more carefully by the opposition now after being somewhat an unknown last season.
as for kirmond...it has come to light that he missed 10 weeks contact work during pre season due to a nasty finger injury... no wonder he has been behind the other lads and not been able to get in the team.. until now that is. hes fast, powerful and can step off either foot, think he will get back to his best now 100% fit
