If we pick Gilmour in the centres, then for me there is nobody who is fit that is currently more able than him in that position at the Giants. I'm really not sure about Cudjoe and Lawrence playing there, I don't think they have enough guile and grit to be effective there (I say that and Cudjoe at least will play a blinder at the weekend!). Perhaps we do have stronger options in the forwards, but Gilmour is still a class act. In many ways a similar type player to Wild only slightly more robust. He is a tackling machine, does the hard graft and has a creative spark which has been developed playing alongside genuine world class talent at the likes of Wigan, Bradford and most of all Saints. For me Gilmour should have been made captain.
Think nb does read this web site - as one person keeps voting that eorl is better as a starter rather than from the interchange on a different thread...
NB is not automatically the only one to feel that though is he!
Thought Eorl had his best game for a good while on Sunday from starting prop and also was pretty blockbusting straight out in the first hit up against Wire too. Perhaps Eorl prefers to start games as well, who knows. I don't think anyone could argue that Eorl has an impact off the bench and lifts the crowd when he comes on but he's also justified being a starter so far. Maybe it's just NB bringing some variation into it and keeping our props on their toes.
The problem with starting him is a momentum change and uplift option is sacrificed and as a talisman he has that potential to shift games direction.
Pretty sure earl was quoted in his testimonial programme as preferring interchange .
