Durham Giant, I do not like your way of thinking but I can see where you are coming from. Shaun Lunt is only worth so much, to break current club tradition and give him a contract that he does not deserve, just to keep him, would be wrong. Shaun Lunt has already stated he would like to play in Australia at the end of his current contract and more than likely will do. Huddersfield Giants have an excellent replacement for Shaun Lunt in Kyle Wood.
Despite his age he is one of the fittest players in Super League and one of the top 5 back rowers in the league. The man is pure quality and a very good signing for any team.
cant see the point in signing menzies weve just let a player in wild go who is 8 years younger and imo a better player at this time in both players careers because weve got an abundance of 2nd rowers cant see it happening to be honest.
I would agree about Lunt if he is wanting more than the club feel he is worth then let him go BUT i would much rather spend any money that would have been spent on Menzies be used to to either bring in a =#FF0000quality first team player to the squad or to develop younger players who will stay with the Giants in the longer term.
If Menzies is a second row he would surely be behind . Fa alogo, O Donnell, Patrick , Kimond. Not counting any other second rows we may be linked with.
If he was to play centre he would be behind Lawrence, Gilmour, Cudjoe. ( partly based on criteria of homegrown and academy players etc) not counting trying to sign Quinn etc.
I do not see Menzies playing any other positions
Surely we would only sign Menzies as a squad player and i cannot see Menzies wanting to sign on squad players salary.'"
There's a rumour going around that the Karate kid himself Fa alogo might be coming back down under to play for the Cronulla Sharks.
