From the names mentioned above , I would let 16 of these players go ,although it has been reported Russell has signed for Salford , and Thorniley signed for Wigan , I’d try to keep Brierley but I’ve heard he has signed for Salford .I would think Wallace and Flower won’t play for Leigh again , and maybe Tierney,I can’t see Peteru and Peats playing for us again , and Gee and Helliwell are reported as found new Clubs .

With only 5 signed for 2022 *pretty sure Jai Whitbread is a 2 year deal* & 2 of those (Whitbread & Stone) having Super League/NRL clauses in their contracts we have potentially only 3 signed for next year.

Peats & Peteru will be released by Giants end of season. I would definitely look at bringing back Peats if at all possible, I don’t think we saw the best of him. If he has witnessed any rumoured shenanigans at Leigh he might prefer to go home to Oz or try a Super League club.

Have any of the players leaving signed for champ teams - may have missed it but all I believe have signed for SL clubs, that’s why our best players are leaving, just read Brierley’s comments and that sums it up

I would imagine we have a good number already lined up, reckon we will have a squad undoubtedly strong enough to challenge the top of the champ

Also why leave it so late to name the new coach who will need time to plan pre- season and assess the quality of the squad in order to hit the ground running at the start of next season. Nothing gives any semblance of an organisation that remotely knows what it is doing at Leigh Centurions, if Joe Mellor and Ben Reynolds nice guys and 100% triers as they are the player's to build our team around - presumably being the first signings they must be - then heaven help us. So who is it that has signed these player's on for next season, who is the Rugby Manager that has advised the Leigh owner these are the player's the coach (whoever he will be) that these guy's fit snuggly into his game plans, stratergies and tactics for next season?

Slow down Harry, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, and i think Degsey is planning ahead. I agree we can't magic up a Superleague squad if we keep our place in SL , and yes we will find ourselves in the same kind of position we've just been in ( yes i know it's not good for the fans) scrambling for a win or two but, we will end up getting full funding, and maybe Marwan may come on board. If we end up getting relegated to SL-2 (10 teams) for 2023, we should get a parachute payment, and then hopefully be in an healthy position to compete strongly enough in SL-2 to get back SL-1 in 2024 . Then again i could be miles out.
