| As of right now there are still 8 different options for us
Automatic relegation
Automatic promotion
Home or away to Catalan , Widnes or London in the MPG
This afternoon will reduce those options with the 2 Automatic options being decided one way or another
Scary Innit

| A win for London today would make it very interesting next weekend, Leigh beat london and Widnes beat Catalans all 3 would be on 8 points

| Exciting isn't it? Like a game of russian roulette, who do you guys cheer for today? A win for London and you have a chance to stay up automatically but also brings automatic relegation in to the equation.

| we have to win next week just to get into the MPG, a win For London today and if we win next week could see us in super league without the MPG providing Widnes beat Catalans and the points differences are greater for us

Lets just say its been better than last year knowing that we had a semi final place booked without winning a game meaning the players didn't bother turning up and the fans didn't either. At least this year the players have turned up for every game. We tackle very well, afterall the league table says we are the best defensive team in the championship but we are poor on attack and that has shown massively in these middle 8's. Last night was a good example as we kept Leigh out time and time again but when you give up so much ball you simply get punished playing better teams. I want Leigh to stay up but from a selfish point of view I want them to come down because the other teams do not interest me one little bit.

Current points differences:-
Catalans -11 (8 points)
Widnes +68 (6 points)
Leigh + 62 (6 points)
London +13 (3 points)
Catalans could be very vulnerable, despite being on 8 points. I'd still rather play Catalans than Widnes though!

| It's going to come down to 80 mins of rugby to decide our fate so we can't say it's in our own hands I would fancy Catalan but think Widnes might be to strong for us they seem to have that edge on us for some reason as they not really breaking any Potts

| So the MPG it is , lose to London we play away , beat London by less than 26 and we might be away to Widnes or home to Cats , beat London by 26 and we're at home
Bring it on

| So, if we do play Catalans at home in the MPG, it may be an opportunity for Derek to open the doors for free again. IMHO it would be a stroke of genius. A 12000 crowd shouting on the lads would get us across the line. A game at home to Catalans, live on sky with all to pay will struggle to match the crowd we had last night against Fax. The atmosphere was really flat last night with 60 away fans. There was an apathy among the home fans in the north stand last night that has been creeping in over the past couple of months.
I remember the excitement and buzz around in the build up to the Batley game last season due to Derek opening the doors for free. We would need to recreate that if we want to win the MPG.

| So the 8 now become 4 , pity we couldn't have got another couple of try's last night , but we know what we need to do , a home match would be crucial IMO

| Just in case the Leigh players don't know if they lose the MPG their contract with Leigh is null and void in other words they become unemployed at the final whistle what more motivation do they need to win that game.

It should be a massive motivation.
Problem is that Catalans or Widnes players would have exactly the same motivation as us - albeit for one of them it would be in funny Euro money!

| Qick Question. Is the MPG a shared gate? And do the host club keep the commercial revenue streams ie Hospitality, catering, etc as opposed to the RFL hosting the game at the fourth placed teams ground awarding operating costs only.

Shared gate Harold. See A3.21 in Operational rules, below.
www.rugby-league.com/operational-rules/
That should work out fine for the away team, if Catalans are involved! (i.e. Catalans at home, they give us 50% of the gate, having sold 90% of the tickets, and vice versa if we are at home) Still, whoever wins won't care about that!

| Well, now Londons season is over. do they do a HKR and play a weakened team next week. For me Widnes win easily at CATS, because CATS are rubbish at the moment and the confidence is shot. Another big loss for them next week will completely finish them. There owner sat in the stand watching them at HKR said it all for me, he was not impressed at all and was resigned to relagation on that performance. Everything they do goes through Luke Walsh, keep the pressure on him when they have the ball and run at him in defence to make him do plenty tackling attempts and we should be fine. Home advantage is major.

We don't really have the option of putting the reserves out, we don't have any!
Maybe Green can play, along with Fleming and Hampshire, but that'll probably be out of necessity given injuries to Langi, Paterson and Crooks.

I think Cats may surprise a few folk,I certainly don't think they are rubbish, and are fighting for their lives as is everyone else, it would surprise me if the beat Widnes next week ,2 wins and we stay up ,I'm a betting man, but I wouldn't bet us winning 2 games.

Wasn't kiwileyther suggesting that London might turn out a weakened team though?
As for us, well we are already doing that!
