When you look at our team today and our squad we should be doing better than this.

Our defence is shocking. Yeh we won but it is time for improvement.

Leeds & Co in the Middle 8's could be painful.

At this time we are simply not good enough to beat any of the bottom 4 in SL. We play well in short spells and then go right off the boil for long periods of the game. Game management is still poor overall. Neil Jukes needs to get this team playing much better than this and right now please. SL is many miles away at the moment in every way possible.

It's good enough for now coz were top if the league and pretty certain of a top 2 finish after today's results.
Not pretty to watch most of the time, but when we need to we look class, those last 2 tries were SL class getting teams on the back foot when they can't deal with it.

However, most of what you say is correct, on current form we wouldn't stand a prayer, we let Batley dictate the game for long periods and in my opinion the better team on the day lost.
Come the middle 8s I believe our forwards can be a match for some of the SL teams, but it's going to take a lot more than current form to be successful

Complete lack of pace in the team will be our pitfall in the play offs

This team on paper should be trouncing every team in this league but we are struggling and leaking points. You have to look at the coaching team. It needs an experienced coach otherwise we aren't going anywhere in the middle 8's.

look at the rest of the results and you're having a ball compared heart attack stuff the league is been shaken up massively by the so called minnows

That is precisely what is worrying those who seek promotion.

At the beginning of the season the coaching team was 4. We now have 2 men doing the job of 4. We need guys in to help the coaching team. I know we have been interviewing recently and there are rumours that Paul Cooke is coming in as Assistant to Jukesy when Doncaster RU's season finishes in a few weeks but they need help now! Even the smaller clubs like Halifax have more than two coaches on the staff.

Poor completion rates, conceding dumb penalties and defensive frailties continue to combine to deliver overall performances that are about 70% of what I believe our Team Sheet suggests we should be delivering.
Despite these issues the team spirit remains amazingly good.
However we continue to steal wins rather than put part time opposition to the sword - these standards, in my view, are not good enough to dominate the Championship let alone be successful in the Middle 8s.
We are a full time team with all the time in the world to put these things right yet our fans live in hope that we shall see a substantial improvement from one game to the next and it never seems to come.
Yes we are top of the league, for now, but we are certainly not playing like league leaders and the return on the investment currently looks somewhat disappointing.

I think we`re being a tad disrespectful to a very good Batley side who could have been worthy winners.However the team came back with two crucial tries for a win,albeit a scrappy win.Middle 8 wins aren`t won in May,let`s get there
in the top 2 and see how things progress.

We should be seeing a steady improvement each week on the pitch if the club are serious about SL - and that's not the case, sadly. Someone has also mentioned that we're low on numbers in the coaching staff too. Why is this still the case?

If things are sorted out too late then we're not going to do anything in the middle 8's.

Having had the luxury of being able to watch loads of SL this season, Leigh are nowhere near even the level of the bottom clubs.

It seems as though our nightmare start to the season has had too large an impact.

Yeah we're top of the league, but leaking tries left right and centre means we'll only ever be top of this league in the future too!

). But we can't sustain this outlay year in year out either, I reckon this season or next we need to reach the holy grail or we need to reel ourselves in - DB can't pump these funds in forever

My worry is our backs are truly lacking pace'we still give away too many daft penalties and our defence as I have said before is very poor.

Been the same practically all season but we are still top amazingly.

And one final thing do we look like a full time team ? Answer is obvious.

I think people are over reacting..... Jukesy seems to be a good coach.....

We're top of the league and hVe lost 1 game in the league..... He has gone through more of a rough patch that Rowley ever did with Brierlwy etc....

Let's judge him in the middle 8s (assuming we now get their)

Most of us say we played good rugby for 90% of last season and fell down at the 8's, Who played a big part in last seasons training/coaching sessions last season (i'll give you a clue, he still is involved in training). Earlier this season we were throwing games away at the end of a match now we seem to be saving games at the end of a match, In LCTV interviews Neil identifies the same areas that were not executed as planned and trained for that we all discuss on this mb, i think what i am trying to say is that to me the evidence is there that Neil is qualified and has the experience with this Leigh team to coach us to success. What i don't try and deny is that it just isn't coming together yet and as worried as i am i'm not worried about our coach or his methods. Have other teams improved, is it playing Leigh that gets a team to raise it's game or does our team think it doesn't have to play all out for 80 to get the win, i don't know there could be so many factors that are contributing to our inability to stay switched on for the full 80 i just don't think it's as simple as change coach.

Last week AJ bailed us out with some stunning defensive efforts.

Today I think Riddy bailed us out with some flawless goal kicking and a shrewd drop goal. Had a good game in general play too. MoM for me.

We were so so bad today. Don't think any team in history has made as many knock ons as we did this afternoon. We dropped absolutely everything! The conditions were greasy but Batley managed to hold onto it far better than we did!

Feel lucky to have got away with the points today. Defence was just awful.

Batley were terrific IMO. Keegan Hirst had a top game....as always! Dom Brambani absolutely murdered us... as always!

Riddy, Hansen, Acton, Whiting and Hoppy stand out as our best today.

Still of the opinion that we must be the DUMBEST team in the league. AJ throwing a suicide pass out on the 1st tackle in front of the posts was one of the stupidest things I have ever witnessed!
