I saw this piece on twitter earlier, I wonder what was actually said (forget the attention grabbing headlines). When your first taught rugby a hell of a lot of time was spent drilling into you how to tackle properly and how to take a tackle and the consequences of not doing it correctly were also drilled into you. Lets say young children are stopped from making/receiving full contact tackles while playing rugby, what happens when they grow up a bit and want to continue playing rugby but with full contact?. Surely you are increasing the risk of a person receiving a life changing injury as they think they can play rugby but have not been coached how to tackle or take a tackle bearing in mind the person will be bigger , stronger and faster so collisions will have far more energy. Now you would think the medical profession know this wouldn't you????.
