I have been wondering why Leigh as a forward thinking RL Club do not seem to have been reaching out to a possible talent pool in Bolton schools & colleges.

I feel like we are missing a trick here.
How hard would it be to get out to the schools & colleges & engage with the students in order to tap into an unknown depth of possible RL talent ?

Not only Bolton but also out to the edges of Salford & Warrington, places like Walkden, Swinton, Culcheth & Croft.
I would be only a little surprised if Salford & Wire went out to every single corner of their communities.

I particularly feel that reaching out to the Asian communities of Bolton could pay dividends in the future, in terms of player talent pools & possibly to a smaller extent to our fan base.

Again, how hard would it be to hold say 3 or 4 seperate talent days down at the stadium & behind closed doors *to members of other League Clubs* so that our coaching staff can engage with the youth, promote Leigh RL & even *fingers crossed* maybe spot some raw talent worth nurturing ?

I may well have broached this subject before & so at the risk of being boring, how feasible do you guys think this could be ?

When John Duffy was working in the Community department, or whatever it was called in those days, I believe he had specific responsibility for the Bolton schools. (I also believe there was funding from the RFL for this) I'm not sure what the involvement in Bolton is these days. Perhaps someone with knowledge of the current Community department, could shed some light on this?

How many black President's of the USA ?

RL is a sport that pays relatively low salaries. I can't see a compelling reason for any young athlete who does not have an existing affiliation with Rugby League to join the sport. It's physically and mentally very tough, and Football and Rugby Union, at least, have bigger earning potential.

It's harsh, but that's the reality of things. Leigh could make in-roads but I think the investment to do so would have to be substantial and long-term, and their would be little to prevent a more glamorous club coming along and profiting from our investment - unless we position ourselves as THE most glamorous club

Not many Rugby playing Asians Ikram Butt tried to recruit some but I don't think he was successful,they prefer Cricket.

What about the junior sections of Leigh MR and Leigh East? They already have rugby players there!!!
