The Watcher would like to congratulate all those involved in yet another successful league campaign, you don't get better than 1 at place. The Watcher is also sure that Rowley won't let the concentrations levels drop & that the teams focus remains 100 % on what has been the main aim all season, promotion to SL. Only seemed to play for 15 mins today, if they can play like that when it matters I reckon they could be in with a shout

Massive achievement can't do better than finishing first, however despite the flair and exciting rugby the defensive effort shown tonight won't be good enough in the games to come. Brierley got the MOM as usual for his scoring efforts but Higham was outstanding.

As was Moi Moi, did some long stints and must have made more yards than the rest put together

Thought the stand-outs tonight were Higham, FuiFui, Pala and Kurt.

Big mention for Acton and Aspinwall too. Their combination for Ryan's hat-trick try was brilliant. Apart from that though, they got through a lot of disciplined work.

Agreed, but full credit to Dewsbury, who didn't have THAT much to play for.....and until we made it 24-12, was a little concerned.

Personally feel that he has a great future, [uif[/u he can channel his aggression. He's a big, fit, athletic lad - with a lot of the necessary attributes to make it to the top.

Don't the "bottom 8" keep their points from this season in there play-off, or have I got that wrong?

Indeed, sometimes he's a bit to het, though he seems a bit more sensible (like how he started the season) since the incidents at Batley. I feel the test will come when Fax are played again.

Outstanding performance to clinch back to back League Leaders Shields.
The credit doesn't just go to the team though, who incidentally seem as though they would die for each other, but to the Coach & Coaching Staff, Directors & all those in the background who, while sharing no spotlight, make things happen.

For me this is NOT the major prize though & I would gladly exchange it now for 3rd or 4th place in the Middle 8s.

Being Champions again now will give the Club an even bigger media profile, hopefully enabling DB & PR to attract star players of real quality & attract bigger, better, more sponsorship deals to further drive Leigh RL on to Super Dooper League.

Its the one weak spot in this new format. The bottom 8 is a pointless exercise apart from the 2 or 3 teams at the bottom trying to avoid relegation. Doncaster are already as good as down, so you are looking at Batley or Hunslet in all probability (its a good job there are not 2 teams well adrift or else it would be a completely forgeone conclusion). For a team like Fev, it is going to be torturous, which is I suppose one good thing about it!

I fancy Dewsbury to win the Championship GF.

All depends on the strength of the teams. It is not going to be like that every year.

Fantastic season (so far). If when those fixtures came out & we looked at that tough 1st run of 5 games if you'd have said we'd only loose away at London, get a draw at Odsal, knock out 2 Super League teams on the way to the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup and win the league with a game to spare you'd have found it difficult to believe, but here we are. Fantastic team now bring on the Qualifiers and promotion.

You have to applaud the way in which your club has rebuilt itself from scratch to the point where both on and off the pitch you wouldn't look out of place in Super League. You are proof (if it were needed) that there is life in the game outside the top flight and through a great mix of development and clever signings (Hock aside) and I wish you all the best in the Middle 8 where even though the deck is most definitely stacked against you, I believe you'll be the team most likely to go up if someone does.
