| With all the talk, and with other club's fans commenting on how Leigh fans don't know what we're on about, I thought I'd post this.
Apologies if it's been done before.
So, how many of the current Leigh squad are good enough for SL?
Here are my views, for what it's worth...
1 - Greg McNally - Yes. Just!
2 - Adam Higson - Yes. But not fast enough as a winger for me, so... centre? Not sure.
3 - Greg Worthington - Not quite. Jury is still out though.
4 - Tom Armstrong - Yes.
5 - Liam Kay - Yes.
6 - Martyn Ridyard - Yes. Just!
7 - Ryan Brierley - Yes.
8 - Fuifui Moimoi - Yes.
9 - Bob Beswick - Yes. Just!
10 - Oliver Wilkes - Yes.
11 - Matthew Sarsfield - I haven't seen much of this lad so can't comment.
12 - Tommy Goulden - Not quite.
13 - Sam Barlow - Yes.
14 - Sean Penkywicz - Yes.
15 - Jonathan Pownall - Yes. Just! But, again, is he fast enough for SL?
16 - Michael Platt - Yes. Just!
17 - Ben Reynolds - Not yet, but will be!
18 - Tom Spencer - Yes.
19 - Kurt Haggerty - Yes. Just!
20 - Sam Hopkins - Yes.
21 - Jamie Acton - Yes.
22 - Andrew Dixon - Yes.
23 - Martin Aspinwall - Yes. Just.
24 - Jonny Walker - Not quite.
25 - Cameron Pitman - Not quite.
26 - Gareth Hock - Yes.
28 - Steve Maden - Not quite.
29 - Jake Emmitt - Yes. Just.
Lewis Foster - Not yet.
Jamie Tracey - Not yet.
So by my reckoning, we're not far off. But obviously we would need to buy a few players if we managed to gain promotion.
I believe we'd need at [ileast[/i another winger. Maybe even 2.

Some of them aren't resounding Yes's. Some only just get the nod.
I'm talking good enough to compete and stay up in SL here, not challenge for top 4.
I have 13 definite yes's. So we nearly agree, Reffy.

Adam Higson is one of the quickest players on Leigh's books and was being looked at by Saints last year while I was involved before signing his new deal.

| Considering most of the squad have been tapped up by SL in the last 16 months id say the majority, however you always look to improve.

Agreed.
Bradford away will be a proper challenge and test against a FT professional outfit but its the week in week out intensity of the middle eights against FT teams that will determine exactly were we are and what areas require strengthening to be able to play SL.

| I think Gregg McNally is one of our best players, he's definitely good enough in my opinion, has an excellent understanding of the game & always knows when to pass & who to and when to run & where which is essential for a full back.
Higson is fast enough & definitely good enough.
Riddy is an odd one, you only realise what he contributes when he's not on the field & how much worse we are then, very difficult to say how good he is (he's essential to the team now).
Oliver Wilkes is but he's getting on so probably won't be for very long.
Pownall is definitely fast enough but is he strong enough? Only young so will improve.
Maden is practically retired, staying on (& rightly so) for his testimonial & covering for the reserves, he's not even really good enough for top Championship anymore never mind not quite SL.
Al in all though it depends what you mean by "Good enough for Super League" If you mean win promotion & stay up I think they all are. If you mean get into the top 8 well we could do with strengthening in a few places, replace a few older players bring in a bit more top flight experience. If you mean top 4 obviously that requires a squad with lots of world class players in it.

| An honest opinion from a Fax fan.
1 - Greg McNally - No
2 - Adam Higson - No
3 - Greg Worthington - Potential to be.
4 - Tom Armstrong - Yes.
5 - Liam Kay - No
6 - Martyn Ridyard - No
7 - Ryan Brierley - Yes.
8 - Fuifui Moimoi - Yes.
9 - Bob Beswick - No
10 - Oliver Wilkes - No
11 - Matthew Sarsfield - Potential to be.
12 - Tommy Goulden - No
13 - Sam Barlow - Yes.

It all depends what the clubs ambitions are, if its just to get in SL then yes, a lot of the players individually could do a job for someone in SL but the reality is that some of the ones mentioned arnt even in the top 2 or 3 for their position in this league. I reckon that team at the moment would finish either bottom or 2nd from bottom of SL but if you can bring in about 6 or 7 decent quality players you could probably compete for mid table but as I have said before you will be competing for those players with about 6 other teams as well.

We do, because we signed better players in Weller Hauraki and Cory Paterson that said and done, I would have been more than happier for Andrew Dixon to have stayed with us as he is quite easily Super League quality.
