If thats not the best squad in the league, I don't know what is. I'll be disappointed if we finish lower than second.

Bit harsh the 'finishing lower than 2nd bit'.....what you have 'on paper' doesn't always show, week in, week out. !!

I can hardly believe some of the players I'm not putting in the 17 but for me that is the starting 13 and then the impact replacements that would be hard for anyone to beat. I'm also confident that we have so much class in depth that we will finish in the top 2. As the season progresses. We have the quality of players in numbers to allow rotation from game to game so player stay as fresh as possible, and to fill any spots where injuries occur.

Think we need to get rid of some dead wood like Aspinwall and Maden, both old and will never realistically play first team. Surprisingly we do have a quiet experienced pack for all the young players we have. We could turn out these two:

With all the young players on loan as well yet to come back, we could see a few of the dead wood leaving this / next season.

I'm sorry but to refer anyone in our club as dead wood I find totally disrespectful. But to use that term to describe Steve Maden is unbelievable. I believe Steve was given a squad number out of respect for his years of dedicated service and because he was in a testimonial year. He is not seen as a potential first team player but I am sure he is contributing to our drive to SL and putting everything he can into our club in other ways.
Steve Maden has put his body on the line to represent our great club and entertain us fans, time and time again.
One of my all time favorites.

Disrespectful? It's an opinion.... Leigh isn't a charity, anyone who doesn't hack it should be let go.... Maden / Aspinwall I believe aren't up to scratch for SL.

I believe he should concentrate on coaching next year and retire, all good things come to an end!

Aspinwall showed his worth at the end of last season, and his experience could prove valuable at the back end of this season.

If anyone was to leave this season, it will be because they need / want first team rugby that they can't get given the depth of our squad. And the club wont stand in their way.

Whats up with Dixon and Spencer, recovering from injuries? I know they both played in Madens testimonial game. I think Goulden should be dropped for all his knock on's the first two games, and give Dixon a run out.

PRs interview with Dave Parky is where he says he sees Hock as a prop. Also says Acton will not play due to failing a head injury test. Spencer in 19 man squad. Great comments on the DR and loan situation. I'm stunned at what he said is currently happening at London.

So cut a loyal servant to the club having a benefit year who's costing the club ZERO, and in one foul swoop tarnish the clubs reputation as a loyal family club who looks after their players and staff.

"Loyal servant"or "dead wood". Both are opinions Fred. One opinion is respectful, made with the ethos of our club in mind and with a basis of context as to Steves position in the club. The other is (in my opinion) not and made by a person who is either I'll informed or jumping to conclusions and passing judgement because Steve has #28 in the squad, and would rather cast judgement than ask questions why.

LOL, Leigh are that good perhaps you should of played in World Club Series. This arrogance and thinking better than you are is comical.

Our pack came close to matching, if not actually matching Leeds last season without Fui and Hock. Are we SL quality yet overall, not quite, but come the middle eight I will invite you to come back and update your uninvited opinion. Paul Rowley will have this team playing out of its skin come the middle eights.

He is a bit of a nomad, Virtual Terrace, Wigan, Saints, Leeds, Widnes and here. When the electioneering starts you will see his true colours and they aren't nice.

Can't believe most of these teams have Hock on the bench. You don't put the best second rower in the league on the bench, he plays the full 80 mins.

Rowley has stated he will play Hock in the 'core'

I just think it's his discipline, why he can't play a full 80. Saying that, if he was disciplined, he'd still be at Wigan, and not latching onto a Championship club.
