When he says certain players were thuggish he must be referring to his own scrum half and his 'tackle' on Sam Barlow.

They must have all got together to present this unified work of fiction I suppose. Naughty little scamps.

Watched SL Fulltime last night on Sky and James Lowes looked like a man under pressure. He didn't look well at all.

"Stand-off Gaskell said: "It was a bit disappointing after the first half went so well. But I think in the second half we got dragged into their game, which we expected – but not as much as that. "

1st half was the one with 5 yellow cards and far more penalties plus a mass brawl (started by Williams). He thought that half 'went so well'.

2nd half was one yellow card (for Bradford) and no fighting and significantly less penalties.

So if the 2nd half was 'our game' then i'm happy with that. It was the much cleaner half and the one were we played some great rugby and won 30 - 4.

A compliment really from Mr Gaskell

So did Gaskell, Lowes and Walker get together privately to agree that they would each lie about the level of niggle Leigh brought to the game? Or is it more of a club wide thing and we can expect others to come forward with this fiction?

What did you expect them to say? They are aiming their thoughts (excuses) at their own fans not ours.

It's just the delusions of bitter losers. They've got a long time to sit on this result before they get the chance to make amends.

Translated means :
'Lets try and deflect attention from the fact that we got beaten on Match day 1 and hopefully if we carry on saying how tough it was our fans will hopefully not remember our spectacular collapse in the second half and the way we threw away such a big lead'.

Could backfire as.............
A) The Bradford fans I suspect aren't that gullible these days after everything they have been through in the last 3 seasons and
B) Even though its nonsense I'm sure more than a handful of Championship coaches will note that if Bradford are 'ruffled' they are capable of throwing a huge lead away.

The sheer cheek of having an opinion about a game he played in a day after it happened.

You were terrible in the first half. There was niggle. Bradford allowed themselves to get sucked in whilst Leigh worked the opportunities presented to them well.

Is that really so controversial and insulting? There were similar opinions from Leigh fans on this very forum on the evening of the game.

With respect, if you want to voice this sort of pap I'd recommend going back on your own forum. You are blinkered beyond belief. And bitter. And possibly a joke.

So during that spell when we were terrible and there was niggle, is that when Bradford got sucked in? Did well to get a 20-6 lead.

What was their complaints about the second half.

I think it's worth repeating what I said on the Bradford forum which is this:

As a fan of team A I watched the game back and ENTIRELY NEUTRALLY thought team B were mainly to blame. Didn't See team A do anything wrong.

That's the point though isn't it? There was a lot of niggle in the first half culminating in a mass brawl about ten minutes before half time. Leigh came out with different heads on. Bradford did not.

I personally put that down to the relative newness of the team, but who knows? Sunday was the first time I saw more than half of them play.

That is what keeps jumping out at me too. They keep going on about how it was the 2nd half that was so niggly and they were dragged down to 'our level'. The 2nd half was way cleaner, faster and less nasty than the 1st so they are talking rubbish. I would love to know specifically what we did in the 2nd half that has upset them so much. I can't recall a single incident in the 2nd half other than Siejka when he got his 2nd yellow for tripping Kay.

Bradford got sucked into what?? Playing rugby? Both teams played it hard and at times this spilled over. At no point did anyone get sucked in or drawn to each others level. For what its worth i think both clubs will be in the top 4 of the middle eight. Its just very disappointing nobody from the Bradford side can say they got beat by the better side.

For 8 mins we played the first half with 11
for around 30 mins we played the first half with 12 men.

when we kept 13 men on the pitch we scored 5 tries and won the 2nd half 30 v 4. amazing that not one bradford person can say they got absolutely out played in the 2nd half you scored your only try in the 2nd half from our pass.

when was the last time Bradford lost a half 30 v 4?

anyhow appreciate the ludicrous comments im sure messars Gaskell, Lowes and Walkers comments will make the dressing room wall in the re match!!

The niggle. I said nothing about who the worst offenders were, who started it or why it happened at all. I merely said it existed, and it clearly did. Both teams then had their opportunities to react to its existence in their own ways. And they did.



Leigh were clearly the better side in the second half. If you all collectively quit looking for examples of arrogance from a club you perceive to be bigger than your own you might be a bit more inclined towards charitable interpretation in a conversational medium. It's got to be better than assuming every omission is a personal slight.

I've watched this game 3 times now and for the life of me I cannot believe that hardened professional rugby players are whining like they are.
First half both teams were equally at each other and it worked in Bradfords favour. Second half it was almost all coming from Bradford. We obviously got a good talking to at half time about "play rugby and they can't match us".
Second half we played rugby and didn't rise to the rough house and niggle of Bradford. The rest is history as they say.
Put simply,
First half we both niggled and played rough.
Second half we didn't get drawn into Bradfords attempt to continue it and put us off our game.
Bradford got drawn into our rough tactics, hog wash !
We Rose above their rough house tactics and got the win

im glad you think differently than your star player, coach and captain then. There view is at best bizarre and at worst scandalous.... see you in the summer...

If by that he means that the team HE put out wasn't fast enough and fit enough to live with us in the second half, and HE wasn't able to coach his team at half time like PR was, then I suppose he may be right
