I have nothing against Batley, but when you learn that the player in question scored a winning try, in a tight game, it just seems right that at least the 3 points gained by Batley in that game should be removed. To decide to not enforce a sanction is in this instance is a direct and unfair choice to severely punish Keighley.
The recent Celtic example had the other club removed from a very lucrative cup competition for playing a player, for a few minutes at the end of a game when the result was and could not logically be compromised.

I love going to Batley but no way is it far what s happened then again could they start to deduct points from teams from 2013 ...........

FWIW I think that the RFL will leave things as they are, otherwise it will bring other clubs into it because they would have to take action against all clubs who have broken the rules, can only see it being more stricter next season or done away with altogether.
It should be loan deals only anyway. Make it 3 monthly at least and then it benefits the player and the clubs .

Regardless of if I agree with the decision or not, I do not believe a member club taking legal action against the body elected to govern it, is totally in the best interest of the sport.

It's not the first time Cougers have been done by the governing body.

I'm pretty sure that there is a RFL by-law that states any member club that takes legal action against the governing body will automatically lose their membership of the RFL.

I think that was just when SL came about with the licensing approach. In other words their decision was final a d they could make up any reason they wanted to mark a clubs application down. Remember Richard Lewis and his Look NW interview!
