Well my view is we used it when we had to and it is therefore hypocritical of us to complain about it. Ok Yorky clubs did not understand the rules but that's hardly a surprise when you consider that pubs over there serve yorkshire puds as a starter.

Has there ever been a precedence set for awarding points to teams as a result of any RFL investigation? I can't think of any and I can't see it happening.

Halifax were taken out of the Challenge Cup a couple of seasons ago when they beat Swinton because Fax played an illegible player.

And they were only kicked out on the morning of the next round against Batley...I know that as I was en route to the game and got a call from one of the match officials saying it was called off! Turned round at the next junction and went to Crusaders v Catalans instead.
