Will we announce players we have signed from super league clubs? There have been a few SL clubs announcing players that are signing for 2015. It would be nice to see us announcing SL signings as well.

Do we need to sign Super League players? The players we have very nearly beat Leeds the other week. Rather get a few more of our own signed up full time 1st although obviously it can't hurt to be attracting some established SL players.

For the level we want to be at next season I would have thought we would need to strengthen our squad. The last time we went up to SL we had one of the best leigh teams in decades. We didn't/couldn't sign any SL players until after the grand final and by then we were left with the dross that no one wanted to sign.

This team is better than the side that won promotion and the team that played in super league. There might have been players in that team that are better than some of our squad, but they where not a better TEAM.

The circumstances when we got promoted didn't give us much chance 2 being relegated that year instead of one, and only being able to sign our players after all the others SL clubs had recruited. At least this new structure is suited and gives everyone the same time scale .

Thought the side we were promoted with was one of our worst sides for a few years, was only a financially troubled Fax coming down instead of a full time club that meant we managed to get up.

Agreed the previous system was badly flawed (which is why I prefer the 3 8s than the straight P&R).

It would be good to get some SL players but we don't need to sign any old SL player for the sake of having SL players, this squad have shown they’re good enough and will be even better full time.

I think there is a massive key question here in terms of quota players.

if we will be competing against SL oposition next year then we must play by the same rules and be allowed 3 quota players?

This puts us in a great position as we currently have none

maybe a call to mr millward to se what talent is available in Aus?

I'd be happy to have no quota players at all. I'm not sure we should go down the route of signing overseas players and all the extras that go with them just because we're allowed them (if indeed we are).

Agreed money can be better spent elsewhere.

That said where's Pitman from?

Cameron holds a UK passport so does not count on the quota.

I would love to have a teem full of leigh lads/uk players but if you believe we can survive in super league with no quota players you are living in a dream world, the key to quota players is to bring in quality young players.

I don’t know how much money it costs but would think you could possibly get two young Brit’s for near enough the same money as one quota?

Not a dream world at all, why would you automatically think a young Aussie player is better than a young UK player? Of course if there's an exceptional young Aussie up for grabs I have no problems with that, I just said I'd prefer not to have any.

Because there is not the required amount of UK talent that can compete in super league to the required standard hence why every team in super league uses all there quota spots. why would you not want a great player to play for leigh just because he aint english? imports provide so much to the competition as well as drawing crowds.

I would like to see an assistant coach etc come in from a SL club. It's a huge step up to full time football and you need someone familiar with the best practices in terms of how to manage time etc.

I can see where a lot of you are coming from but it sounds like you are trying to fix something that's broken. We are a part time club that has just given one of the big super league clubs the fright of there lives, when we go full time next year I see no problem for this team stepping up another gear. As this team stands now we are more professional than some of the clubs that are already in super league.

So a good Championship coach who fits 5 days coaching into three evenings need advice on time management? do me a favour that's where all the ex SL guys fall down on when they try and fit a pint into a half pint glass, when dealing with part time players.
Time and man management is something Paul Rowley and his coaching team needs no advice on their results speak for them selves.

I agree Fred, I think Paul and his team work wonders with the time they currently have. To 'time manage' a full time team would be a walk in the park.

I know what you're both saying, but it's time management at the opposite end of the scale to what we see now.

Of course, Paul's an innovative thinker and I think he can probably dream up more positive ways for players to work than could be fit in to a 50 hour week! We'll have no problems
